ART COLUMN – 9/10/21

Welcome to the thirty-seventh edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Anya, Cracked, Eskild, and Jaeun) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

“Jeweled Jade”, made by Monikat, RPF Scout Medic

”So it’s one of those gem art things that you stick gems onto the numbered points on the pad. It took altogether about 12 hours XD but well worth it. As for inspiration? I had a cat when I was in high-school and she was basically my best friend, and she has unfortunately passed away, so when I saw this kit at the store I knew I had to get it. I’ve been calling it “jeweled Jade” since my cat’s name was Jade:3”

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

“Summer olympics comic cover”, made by Toia, RPF Colonel

This is a special edition of the FTGF comics, for ONLY 9,99 rebel cash (whaaat?) displaying the four teams of the last olympics playing some of the games that were part of the event

“3ic Portrait”, made by Coric, RPF Lieutenant General

“It’s been a hot minute since I last updated my last hcom portrait(s) and I found some extra time on my hands!”

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Week was Mythology!

“yggdrasil”, made by jaeun, RPF Third in Command

”I wanted to make an art that relates to the theme and didn’t want it to be greek mythology but the only other thing i know is norse mythology so i thought ‘oh why not draw yggdrasil on my skin like those tattoos i see on insta’ :p ((i originally wanted to draw kratos from god of war but ahahaha im not talented enough for that-))”

“Flying Wyvern”, made by Skyline Lazer, RPF Lieutenant Colonel

”Wyverns are a variant of dragons, where it’s usually from the medieval era. You can count it as being from Greek Mythology and I feel that Wyverns are much cooler than dragons, hence I decided to draw this. However, it has no legs/arms which is a twist on it.”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week will be… Chaos! Chaos can be described as a state of extreme confusion and disorder. The word is derived from a Greek word which means “chasm” or “void”. I’m sure everyone has something in mind when they think of the word chaos, whether it be destruction or spilt milk, we can’t wait to see all your artwork! Make sure to put #rpfacchaos in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!

TROOP INTERVIEWS – JAEUN, PRINCHI, MANXY, JUNEBUG, TOM

This week marks the seventy-third official edition of “Troop Interviews”, where a team of interviewers (currently Mars, Cracked, Guinz, and Marie) asks two or more people questions. Interviews won’t have the same questions; each interview’s purpose is to show originality and have its own unique highlights. Along with that, the questions asked to give us a better understanding of each soldier and how different or similar everyone is in the community. There’s an exponential amount of soldiers here in the Rebel Penguin Federation, so it will be difficult to get to everyone who requests an interview. The Rebel Broadcast Team graciously appreciates the patience you all have and hope to see you guys in a post one day!
