Hey there, Rebels! Welcome back to our Day In The Life column for the twenty-fifth edition! WOOO! 🎉 For the twenty-fifth edition we’ve interviewed four members of RPF from two Colonels, a Brigadier General and a General! Now, let’s read about what each of their days typically looks like!
Athena
My daily life is pretty boring. But I’m lucky because I’m mainly taking online classes, so most days I don’t have to go to class. If I don’t have classes, I’ll sleep in late. I’m definitely not a morning person. When I eventually wake up, I’ll start my morning with a light breakfast and some caffeine. As I finish my coffee, I make a to-do list of everything I want to accomplish that day. Most days I spend the majority of my time studying or doing classwork. It’s boring, but I like to be ahead of any deadlines. I tend to study until evening.
When evening arrives, I do a little bit of cleaning around the house. Then I walk my dog before it gets dark. If I have any other errands that come up, I try to complete those as well. Next, I’ll eat dinner with my family. After dinner, I’ll hang out with my brother or mom. We usually play board games or watch TV. Recently I’ve been catching up on Wednesday with my mom.
Once it’s nightfall, I tend to stay up way later than is healthy for me chatting in RPF main chat, drawing, or playing cozy games. I’m kind of a night owl, so my sleep schedule always gets messed up. Once I realize that it’s far too late for anyone to be awake, I get ready for bed and go to sleep. I also try to attend an RFP event during the day, but because they’re at different times every day, I didn’t know where to include it. Anyway, I try to keep a good work-life balance, but I find I always struggle to get enough sleep. Overall, although my life is rather uneventful, I actually prefer a somewhat dull life style.
Pem
What does Pemjah do on a day to day basis asked no-one, well that’s alright I’ll still tell you! I usually start my day around 9:30-10:00am where I scavenge the kitchen for something to make or eat (if I didn’t forget groceries). I usually use this time to game with the fellas and or just chill with my gremlin Ash. Some may know of my current job which is police dispatcher, I like to think I have the possibly the worst schedule 3p-11p. During my shift depending if it’s a busy day or not, I’ll hop in the RPF main chat and spread my puffle eating views / prophecy. Which yes if you’re reading this puffles belong on pizza. When I do clock out at 11pm I get the keys to the rec center which has a gym available for the officers 24/7 and get my daily workout in! Depending on the day is what I’ll hit and of course end it with cardio. Pack my stuff and head back to the station to drop the keys off and head home to shower and yap a bit more or if I’m not tired and Glo @s me in main chat to hop on CPJ to yap I usually hop on.
As boring as my workdays sounds believe me THEY ARE! Having Thursdays and Fridays off I’m able to attend Thursday US events and Fridays EU events IF I’m not out for dinner with my gf and or caught up in a game with my friends. But Thursdays & Fridays I’m a big homebody, I don’t really go out especially with the lack of irl friends. But my life ISN’T AS BORING, I love EDM so you’ll catch me at Ultra Miami every year and maybe Forbidden Kingdom and EDC Orlando and or Saturdays at Hard Rock Stadium for my Miami Hurricanes! 🙌
Silver
My typical day during the summer is a lot different than when I am at Uni (which is full of early starts, fun lectures and drama). At the moment my sleep schedule is backwards which though helpful for attending events though not so much for seeing the sun :). When I wake up (Mid afternoon) the first thing I have to do is shower, brush my teeth (in the shower, it saves so much time) and make coffee. I have a salted caramel syrup that I put in it which I love and sometimes if I’m feeling fancy I will even froth the milk. I don’t tend to eat breakfast so next I check my emails, respond to dms and apply for jobs (yuck). I have a list of weekly tasks so I like to try and get one or two done during the day. Even if I don’t get it done until later I at least know I’ve been productive. In between tasks I will either be on Club penguin, playing a few games on my consoles, lurking in chat or attending events. Sometimes if the weather is nice and I’m feeling good I will go for a walk (and get boba). The city I live in has a few nice walks around and it’s nice to be out. And some other times I will go out and feed the pigeons (I have so many pictures of them). I tend to eat later in the day and my usual diet includes pasta and cheese (real cheese!!) with as many vegetables as I can manage, my favorite will always be asparagus. Then in the evening/ during the night I’ll be on call with some of my best friends either playing Minecraft or Roblox, and can totally recommend Frogge (while still lurking in chat). If I am lucky or hit with a rather strong sleep spell I can usually sleep before 4am. And then the cycle repeats until either Uni starts or I get a job 🙂
Lehky
The L in Lehky stands for let’s get into this day in the life…
7:30ish am is when my 5000 alarms start going off, rudely yanking me from my very peaceful REM cycle. wake up – always with my goggles on (I never take them off) and always already hyped for the day ahead. you know what they say, if you STAY hype…you ain’t gotta GET hype – this concept will save you a lot of time, I highly recommend applying it to your life.
Get up, get clean, get dressed, and tend to my dog (my son) Fisher. The only thing in the world he likes more than me is food so he’s usually menacingly staring me down for breakfast at this point.
As you all know I work as a full time penguin, but I do hold a second full time side gig as a graphic designer, so I’ll drive myself to my job and lock in for the day. Locking in will typically consist of drawing goggles on a variety of fun things, talking in RPF, going to penguin events, and then other boring non penguin related graphic design to fill the gaps.
I’ll head home around 5pm and start my nightly routine. walk the dog, make some dinner, shower, usually throw some sports game on TV. I’ll spend the rest of the evening playing whatever my current hyper fixation game is, talking with friends, jamming on the guitar, catching up on any RPF tasks, and OBVIOUSLY, by staying hype. it’s usually really late by the time I call it a night, the night vision goggles make it a trick to tell. Contrary to popular belief though, I do eventually make my way to bed to unwind and fall asleep.
That wraps up this edition! Thank you for reading, and thank you to Athena, Pem, Silver and Lehky for allowing themselves to be interviewed!
Until next time, Rebels!
