Hey hey, Rebels! Welcome back to our Day In The Life column! For the twenty-seventh edition, we’ve interviewed three members of RPF: 1 Lieutenant (who happens to be one of our recent Troops of the Week) and 2 Brigadier Generals! Let’s take a look at what each of their days typically looks like!
Gab
My typical day during Christmas break is a much slower, cosier version of my usual routine, which I really try to savour since I only get two weeks off. I still like to keep my sleep schedule fairly tight, but waking up at 7am feels luxurious compared to my normal 5:45am alarm.
I start the day by wandering downstairs (half asleep ofc) to make a coffee and some breakfast, usually a yogurt bowl. While the coffee is brewing, I ice roll my face, especially my eyes, because I absolutely need something to bring me back to life. Then I head back upstairs, make my bed, throw the window open for some fresh air, and sit down to properly enjoy my coffee and breakfast while scrolling my phone. The highlight is always catching up on everything that happened in main chat overnight.
After that, I’ll have a quick shower, brush my teeth, do my skincare and get myself feeling human, then it’s straight out the door to walk the dogs. Getting some morning movement and fresh air is non-negotiable for me. It instantly lifts my mood and makes me feel like I’ve already done something good for myself, even on slower days (gotta get those happy hormones flowing).
Once I’m home, I check my to-do list and see what the day has in store. No two days are the same, but it’s usually filled with things I enjoy, like a coffee and a good yap with a friend, pilates or yoga, and some kind of little treat appointment, whether that’s nails or a massage. I’ve also been loving spending time baking anything I can think of now that I have a KitchenAid!!
Evenings are all about winding down. After making and eating dinner, I’ll brew a herbal tea, run a bath, put on a face mask, and switch off by playing some CPJ or The Sims 4 while listening to a podcast. I try to be in bed between 10 and 11pm, because staying up past midnight turns me into the actual devil.
And that’s my cosy, slightly indulgent Christmas break day in the life 🙂

Hi legend!! So my day to day really depends on what shift i’m working cus the hours would be different but recently they’ve usually had me closing 🤧 On such days i start work at 12 so i’ll usually wake up around 9-10 depending on how many alarms i silence so that i have time to fully wake up, brush my teeth, do skincare, say good morning to rpf and all that regular morning routine stuff! sometimes i’ll even eat breakfast if i remember to lol but the day is always better if i remember breakfast! After all of that and maybe a little bit of scrolling on tik tok it’ll be around 11:30 which is the time i leave for work since it’s about 15 minutes from where i live 🙂 on the way to work i have to listen to hype music to get me locked in for my shift and it’s usually beyoncé if i’m being real but sometimes i’ll slip some other artists in there just so it’s a rotation of different people. I work in reception at a salon right now it’s a pretty fast paced environment lol but anyways well fast forward to after work cus everyday there is something new 😭 On the way home from work it’s either wind down music or silence depending on the events of the day. Once i get home i call my man to recount the events of the day but soon that’ll be made easier because im gonna move in with him 🤩 after that i’ll usually either make dinner or get something to eat then i’m pretty much chilling if theres not extra work that needs to be done around the house. i just do my night routine p much the same as the morning with brushing teeth and skincare then i’ll hang out in the rpf discord for a bit and maybe join a vc! if im in a vc im staying in there until .2 seconds before i pass out but yes i love hanging out with the rebels! thank you legends
Yarn
Haven’t you ever wondered what a ball of Yarn does everyday? No? Well…I’m gonna tell you anyway. My typical day starts at 6am and from there I immediately hop in the shower to freshen up and wake myself up for the day. Then, I brush my teeth, do my skincare routine (witch hazel works wonders guys!), and fight with my hair to get it to stay in place. I take my dog outside and then we have breakfast together in the kitchen. At around 7am, I’m out the door and on the way to uni. The commute isn’t very long, probably about fifteen minutes. A majority of my courses require me to be in the lab so I’ll be there for about three hours and then go to my lectures (sometimes vice versa). In between classes I’ll have either breakfast or lunch depending on the time and then I’ll head to the library to check up on emails, study, or do some homework. I try to do as much as I can at the library because there’s a lot less distractions. When 1:30pm rolls around, I head home. When I get home, I take my dog out so we can play a bit in the backyard. We come back inside and he gets his mandatory afternoon treat (no exceptions). As he does that, I take another bath and unwind from a long morning of classes. I’ll grab a quick bite to eat and depending on what I have going on that week, I’ll relax for about an hour. I’ll log in to say what’s up to all my lovely RPF friends in main, have some laughs, and read up on any announcements I may have missed. If I have any exams coming up, I’ll study until an event is about to start. If I don’t, I’ll be partaking in one of my many hobbies! Since last August, I’ve been trying to teach myself how to draw. After events (usually at 4:30pm or 5pm for me), I get started on dinner. I’ll also do whatever chores that need to be done as I cook. Evenings are usually very quiet for me, so I wind down at about 9pm. I brush my teeth and then settle into bed. I’ll snuggle up with my pup and scroll through my phone for about two hours or catch up on anime/shows until I get tired at about 11:30pm.
