Alright. Thank you for your time.

Hi, everyone.

There’s no easy way to say this. I have decided to resign from my position in RPF. I’ve been in and out of RPF since 2018 and let me just say that through all that time it has been a place where I’ve felt so many emotions and have met a lot of great people. I’m appreciative of all of the experiences that I’ve been through and all of the opportunities that have been given to me, but as we know all things must come to an end. My real life is going to start picking up soon and I just need to focus more of my time into that. I’ve also noticed myself losing a lot of motivation and it wouldn’t be fair for me to stay as a staff member in the server since I wouldn’t be able to give much of my attention to the duties I need to perform and anything else needed of me. I’ve tried balancing personal life and being staff in RPF for quite sometime now and I think now it is best to stop juggling and continue to work on squaring away the things in my real life that need to be done. Let’s take a look at my crazy timeline in RPF before I go, shall we?

I originally joined RPF in December 2018 when I was recruited by former Third in Command Trackling in the Snow Forts on Club Penguin Rewritten. I had no idea what a Club Penguin army was and what I was getting myself into. I was already familiar with Discord, so I joined the Discord server and was immediately overwhelmed with a server full of people. Everyone was super nice and welcoming and I quickly started learning about the server and attending the weekly events. I climbed my way up the ranks and eventually around Spring 2019 I had became Troop of the Week #87, and then a Brigadier General a week later. I was super excited to experience what being a staff member was like and I was excited to take on my new responsibilities.

Just as things seemed to be going perfectly, life took its course. The school year I was in RPF wasn’t the best school year for me. I was missing a lot of school for medical reasons and because of that I always had a ton of make up work I had to complete. This mixed with the end of the school year finals coming up, I had to focus on school quite a lot. Because of these reasons, I decided it was best to put school before RPF and I agreed to step down from my position as a Brigadier General since I wasn’t able to be active. I was super sad to go but it just wasn’t my time yet.

After that school year, I started doing online school. In 2020 I had a lot more free time, as did everyone, and I would occasionally check up on RPF. I was in the server for a bit and I would attend some events but I wasn’t as active as I used to be. Quarantine was such a crazy time and I was in a lot of other online friend groups because The Walking Dead: The Final Season game had just came out and I’m a nerd (it’s a good game you should play it, and the whole series for that matter), as well as being staff on other Discord servers (fun fact: I moderated a popular CPPS at one point) that I felt my plate was still full. I never forgot about RPF but yet again, it wasn’t at the top of my list at this time either.

Fast forward to 2022, I was out of school, working part time, didn’t really have much going on, so I decided to check back up on RPF. I joined the server again and I was talking to lots of people both new and old, and I decided this would be the time that I made my comeback. I was super excited to come back since I’ve always thought about RPF in the back of my mind and followed up with all the history/tried to keep up with the events that occurred after my departure. I started attending events again and before you know it, I climbed back up to the staff ranks and became an Officer Cadet around March 2022 and then a Brigadier General in April 2022.

At this point it kinda hit me. I had my full circle moment. I made it back to the rank where I left off and I just knew from here the sky was the limit. I pushed for the team, as well as for myself, to be the best staff member I could be and I wanted to set goals for myself. I wanted to take my skills and use them to help others and I wanted to serve as a teacher in a way, so climbing the Officer ranks was definitely on my list of goals. After a lot of dedication and hard work, I eventually made it to General in October 2022.

Once I made it to General I was kinda stunned that I made it so far. I wasn’t so sure if I’d even be well fit for staff again based on my past, let alone be a General. This was one of my favorite ranks since you definitely feel like you’re the king of the hill and a strong role model. I laid low for a bit and continued being the best I could be, but I knew that I wanted to keep going. I mean, why stop now?

After continuously putting in the work week after week and sharpening my skills as both a mentor and staff member, I was eventually welcomed into the HCOM team as a Third in Command in February 2023, a day before my birthday. If that’s not the best birthday gift, I don’t know what is. I was super excited to be on the HCOM team. I never thought in my wildest dreams I would achieve Third in Command. At first I was super nervous since being HCOM is a lot of work and it looks very overwhelming at first, but I eventually got the hang of it. I loved leading events and coming up with funny tactics and cool formations. I enjoyed the sense of being in charge and leading troops in great historical moments.

I thought this was where my journey was going to end. I was pretty content with Third in Command as it had been a goal of mine since reaching General, and I couldn’t have asked for more. Suddenly in October 2023 as I’m at work I check my phone and I suddenly see that I was promoted to Second in Command on a SUNDAY! A Sunday you say? I was so confused. I was like “wait this has to be a mistake.” I was honestly so blown away and I couldn’t believe I had gotten a promotion. I would have never imagined that I would have been able to serve as a Second in Command. It has been such an honor to be granted this position and I will always be grateful for it.

So yeah, that’s my timeline basically. I know it’s been super crazy but honestly, that just fits me so well (considering I’m probably the craziest person that’s been in RPF). I just want to say that I appreciate everyone who I’ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with. I’m not going to make a list or anything since I’ve been here way too many different years and that’s just way too many people to be listing. Obviously, you know who you are if you’ve impacted me in any way, shape, or form.

Until next time,

Joseph | Former Second in Command

p.s. Alright. Thank you for your time.

p.p.s. I gotta do it to myself. “Oh well. One down, lots to go.”
