Welcome to the fourth edition of the Art Column, where our reporters see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.
By definition, “art” can be best described as…
“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”
Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!
Featured Artist
This week’s featured artist is reeeeee!
Reeeeee earned this week’s Featured Artist with her lovely sunset painting, “A Tranquil Evening Along the River“! When asked about her inspiration for the lovely piece, reeeeee said it’s what her ideal favorite place would look like. In addition, reeeeee loves to travel, so this is where she imagines where she’d like to be! Using acrylic paint and some paint brushes, her piece took about two to three hours to complete. You can’t rush perfection! This gorgeous painting with its vibrant cool colors, nice ombre, and nighttime shadows is what made reeeeee stand out for this week’s Featured Artist.
Club Penguin & RPF Art
Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here is some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by none other than our fellow troops!
Here we have a lovely line art rendition of the Music Jam themed Ski Village on CPR from Club Penguin! This was made by Scarlemagne, a big fan of Club Penguin. Similarly, I am a big fan of her art! There is so much detail from the balloons, to the stacked tubes, to all of the trees, ultimately making this an awesome drawing!
As a result of mixing the two coolest girls ever, Quack created Crazzula! This great graphic design piece brought Azula, from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and combined her with Crazzy, one of our esteemed Rebel Commanders. We know Crazzy usually has Azula as her profile picture in Discord, but this took it to a whole other level!
Theme of the Week
In this segment, a new topic will be announced per week to challenge our artists and see the best they come up with. If you’d like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!
This week’s Theme of the Week was Summer!
We asked our artists, “how does your art represent summer to you?” Here’s what they had to say, along with what they created!
“Well, I don’t like hot weather, but ice cream is the one thing that can make summer enjoyable for me.” – Saturn
Islandy Beat, made by Makzing, RPF Major.
“I made this beat because this reminds me a lot of summer. Those instruments (Steel Drums and Ukulele) brings me some Caribbean hot beach vibes. This combined with ”Club Banger” drums (reminds me of summer partying in clubs and all), creates a super summer vibe, with parties and a hot weather!!!” – Makzing
“This piece of art represents summer to me because it has all the images you think of when you think of summer. It has the rainbow, the field of flowers, a towel and umbrella, all of which are important aspects in most ideas of summer. Plus, it has the word summer xP” – Parrot
“Seasons don’t exist in my country, so summer vacation isn’t a thing for me. Nevertheless, I think of summer as a time to recharge and let go. Going to the beach and basking in the bright, hot sun, just like how Jordy — a character I had recently come up with — is doing so! Eyes protected by fancy shades, flowers in her hair, a nice cold drink in her hand, just taking in the summer vibes. I also chose lighter colours for this drawing to give a more relaxed and laid back feel to it, representing how I think summer vacations feel like. (Also, can I just say that Jordy in this drawing is literal goals? I wanna be able to be that relaxed!)” – Jjsnowflake
Thank you to everyone who submitted art!
Next week’s Theme of the Week will be… Space!
The universe is endless! For this reason, we’d like to see what you love about the beautiful galaxies and cosmos of space! Make sure to put #rpfacspace in the caption when you post your work in #art if you’d like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more! Be creative!
All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!
Thanks for reading!
