BEHIND THE PFP – MOD EDITION PART 2

Hey Rebels, welcome back to the cool little segment called Behind the PFP, where this time I, Yvng, got some help from the one and only Mars. We went around and asked the different members of RPF Officers about the story behind their iconic PFPs. So, grab something to snack on and drink and learn about the history of your current Officer members’ profile pictures!

Avril

“I always have panda pfps because pandas are my favorite animal! I guess they remind me of huge stuffed animals like ones I’ve collected in the past. The little patches around their eyes and their big smiles are super cute. I have pandas in my pfps so much that people think it’s strange when I don’t have one! I’ve had different panda pfps to match different themes we’ve had, but I always go back to one of a cartoon panda lying in a beautiful green field with lots of grass and trees. I love this one specifically because it matches my green name so well, and the panda looks so comfy and happy to be in such a beautiful place.”

Woogsy

“i’ve only ever had pikachu pfp’s since i’ve joined and made my discord LOL. i have about 2 or 3 i put on rotation when i need a change, but this is one i feel like i’ve brought back constantly since my troop days :’) i remember this was one of the first gif pfp’s i found when i got nitro. i knew i wanted it to be from indigo league and its also teary eyed pika, which is always cute :D”

“A month after joining RPF, I wanted a new pfp so I just googled “cool pfp”. After a quick look around, my classic snoopy tossing a ball pfp showed up and I’ve stuck with snoopy ever since. I like his chill attitude where he just does his own thing and doesn’t let anyone ruin his vibe.”

“OK SO before my margot robbie brand, i was actually known for my mulan pfps! that was around my early troops days :shy~1: i LOVE mulan and i identified with her a lot as a kid! i mean, i dont have chinese descent but i, too, grew up in a patriarchal household where i constantly had to prove myself useful; so seeing an asian representation on television standing up for herself and kicking ass, it inspired me a lot and completely changed my worldviews. plus ive always been told i look like mulan, so :redface~1:“

“Hmm… I change my PFP so often that choosing one to represent me is kinda hard and ngl none have much of a backstory either :ohsnap: I have a few staples like Gigi Hadid and Kristen Stewart; love taking part in all the picrew trends as well :giggle: but, lately, I’ve been vibing with this one which features Shego from Kimpossible. I used to love that show when I was younger and her green costume/wardrobe matches the mod green ~aesthetic~ perfectly :relievedsq:“

“bonnie bennett is my favorite character from the vampire diaries! I decided to use her as my pfp at around lance corporal and I have used her mostly ever since. I go through a lot of pfp’s from sokka (my og pfp) to ariana grande but i mainly use bonnie. shes also really pretty and in the show shes one of the most important characters and is really underrated!”

Yvng Baller

“I wanted to have a certain “brand” that people would know me by since I wanted to become more involved in the community, and everyone I knew around the time had a brand people knew them by. So, after a bit of time and different PFPs/Brands I went through (like Treecko, Star Butterfly, Kakashi, Lil Uzi, Suki), I think the first time I put Grad Bear as my PFP was early October and it just stuck. I went with Grad Bear because I am in love with Kanye’s music (as he is my favorite artist of all time!!) and I wanted my PFP to be something I love. So, I would go between multiple Grad Bear PFPs until eventually I use this one as the main one, I use! The PFP is specifically from the “Good Morning Music Video” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CHs4x2uqcQ&ab_channel=KanyeWestVEVO as I love the art and design of the video since I am in love with cartoons in general! And yeah, that is pretty much it!!! :gradbear:(also from time to time you can catch me using a Madelyn Cline or Ariana Grande PFP LOL)“

“So I usually have a Tsukki pfp (from Haikyuu) bc i identify with him a lot. I played middle blocker in intramural volleyball, we’re both INTJs, and I just vibed with him when he was introduced in Haikyuu. The exception to having a Tsukki pfp is in wartime, when I pull out the Bo Burnham pfp (you gotta be there to see it lol) because i joined with a Bo Burnham pfp and had it throughout World War Rewritten.”

“My pfp,i chose it because i saw a lot of people matching their pfp color with the rank color, then i was sure that i needed a green pic, but it wasn’t enough, it needs to be about cpr, what is green in cpr? the puffle that i had and can’t remember the name, it’s dead but lives in my heart, it’s the story behind my pfp. R.I.P. green puffle.”

“my iconic pfp is obviously THE GREAT WOLLIAM SMITHSONIAN! there is no amazing backstory to this pfp i just searched up “meme pfps” on google the day i made my discord account and i scrolled until i found the great amazing wolliam and i saved it and i made it my pfp. the original picture is called woll smith on google but i just like making names longer so i made it into wolliam smithsonian!!!! there is nothing more to add than that”

Guinz

“Joining in on the trend at that time, Coric drew this for me. Since Guinz was derived from “Penguin”, I felt that penguin pfps would suit me best. I’m such a fan of gradients and I’ve been using this pfp since the start of the year.”
