Behind The Signature Items

Strike a post and vogue, Rebels!

The iconic RPF uniform has stood the test of time for over seventeen years. From the rebellious Black Puffle Bandana and casual Black Hoodie, through to the steadfast Red Backpack and haunting glow of the Night Vision Goggles!

But despite these items being much-loved staples for any RPF member, more often than not we found ourselves customising the basics with a signature item or two to better represent our personalities and preferences!

I’ve spoken to some of our troops and staff members to learn more about which items they’ve swapped out, and why they did so.

First up is Officer Cadet Buhnny, who said “having access to every item released on Club Penguin makes it so fun to try out different things you may never see released again, such as the Puffle Slippers which I just find sooo cute.” She added, “I always keep the guitar and goggles because those are the staple items of RPF, so when I look for other ways to make my penguin unique I stick to the color black. As for the Letterman Jacket, when I played the OG Club Penguin I wore it all the time so it’s a nice throwback for me.”

Major General Tulip dons the Yellow Fish Costume instead of the Black Hoodie. She explained one day she was a “bored little penguin on CPJ and decided to make the fish costume with the googly eyes. It was random and then it just became a iconic little thing!”

Major Patty has selected the Blonde Quiff as a reference to the British double-act Jedward! She’s worn it ever since she enlisted back in 2020, so is keen to carry on this personal tradition. For her, Jedward always brings out a fun, silly energy she feels she sometimes lacks. Patty first came to wear this particular hair style following conversations in 2020 with RPF Legend Elex, and the joke stuck ever since!

Corporal Loafy has opted for a very different uniform for CP Journey events, making use of this EDM Beat Dropper Outfit, quirky 3D Glasses, and Boombox. The inspiration behind this was the 80s decade, Loafy’s favourite, which always invokes a nostalgic feeling for them.

Newly promoted Second in Command Lemur has shared his uniform, which sees him switch out the face item for the 3D Glasses, and the head item for this awesome-looking hair & hat combination – The Straw Fedora. He went for these because he wanted to deviate slightly for some individuality, and he liked these items!

Alfie keeps his uniform very close to the original version but switches out the Red Backpack for the Scorn Robe. He thought it fitted the look better and confessed to having expensive tastes!

Captain Elsa’s uniform stays true to her namesake, with Elsa’s Ice Queen Shoes and Crowned Queen Hair to “capture the essence of Elsa while staying true to the RPF uniform.”

Artistic23 has been sporting The Peppermint green hair lately as it seems to stand out best – she loves cool tone colours as they are her favourite to paint with in real life. The Green Sunglasses match perfectly with the hair and overall “theme”: “I’ll wear something if I can get to match and go together well, unless I wanna spruce it up then I’ll just use a different hairstyle and leave the rest!”

Officer Cadet Meg has opted for the blue and red UK Hoodie because blue and red are her favourite colours! Her hair and face item also match her very own – she has long hair and wears glasses too, so wanted to reflect that in her RPF uniform! The red United Sneakers remind her of Converse, which is her favourite shoe brand. Finally, Meg’s outfit would not be complete without the addition of her Red Puffle, which she takes everywhere!

General Mads has customised her uniform look with a matching pink penguin colour and pink sneaker! Alongside that is her statement hair-do, known as The Gale Storm!

A huge thank you to all of the wonderful members who participated in this post. It’s been great to celebrate the signature pieces we’ve chosen and learn about the meanings behind them.

His eyes flicked around the hall, catching for a moment on my face. I could not help myself. I smiled.
