Meet Third in Command Lance’s dog!

Name: Jewel
Age: 7 years old
Breed: Boxer/pug mix
Favorite food/treat: Cheese

Our Pet Columnist Art interviewed Lance to talk about his adorable doggy! Let’s see what he had to say:

Art: How did you get Jewel?
Lance:
We adopted her! we decided a few years ago that we wanted a dog, and some of the other dogs we ended up interacting with and trying to adopt fell through, we saw a listing for jewel at a local shelter and decided to try and meet her!
actually fun story: we did a home visit with her foster parents and it went really well, but her foster parents told us that they had a few other families looking to adopt her and had some more visits lined up so they would let us know if she was ours after the weekend. the next day, her foster family called us and told us that they had never seen her react so excited to a family and they had cancelled the rest of her visits – she was ours 😀

Art: What’s your favorite memory with her?
Lance: okay this is a terrible one to have as a favorite but it’s the funniest by far in my living room there is a couch with its back to our front house windows and one of jewel’s favorite things to do is lay on the back of the couch and look out the windows. one day they left the windows open to let fresh air in the house . jewel went to go do her people watching thing, but someone must have been walking dogs in my neighborhood or something else that made her really excited. so, she burst through the screen on the window, jumped into my front yard, and ran 3 houses down the street to go play with the dogs she saw.
my mom got a text from a neighbor that was like “hey, don’t you guys own a black dog? i have one here.” she hadn’t even notice she was gone. luckily she was returned unharmed and she didn’t make it very far because truly she didn’t want to run away

Art: If you and Jewel could travel anywhere in the world together where would it be?
Lance: The beach, I love it but she’s never been so maybe somewhere warm and sunny with a nice
beach like Florida or California etc.

Art: if Jewel could have a magical ability what do you think it would be?
Lance: Super Speed she loves to run around like crazy!

Meet Officer Cadet Miggy’s cats!

Names: Gohan, Reyna, Bean, and Miso
Breeds/colors:
Orange/white
, tortie, tabby, and black
Age: 5 years, 4 years4 yearsand 1 year

Roogy interviewed Miggy to discuss their sweet cats Gohan, Reyna, Bean, and Miso here’s what they had to say:

Roogy: First off, I’d love an introduction to your pets I’ve seen you post a few pictures in our #Pets channel:

Miggy: To start off is Gohan he’s the big orange and white one he’s a mama’s boy who loves to cuddle.
Reyna
she’s got tortitude and loves Gohan she fell in love the day she met him.
Bean she’s my big round eyed baby she’s the most shy, but also talkative and gives the best hugs.
Miso is our mischievous kitten  his very sweet and snuggly, but will be ornery and attack my feet every chance he gets. He’s brought the kitten out in my other cats.

Roogy: How did you adopt and name them?

Miggy: Gohan was a Valentine’s Day present in 2020 originally Linus was his name at the shelter, but my roommate suggested it since his orange and looks super siyan.
Reyna was rescued from a busy intersection not far from my home, her name comes from a Valorant character, though I don’t really play myself the name was fitting.
Fun fact: The vet estimated that Reyna and I share the sam
e birthday so we celebrate every year together and she’s also the only one with a middle name; Reyna Louise.

For Bean I didn’t really have intentions on going to the shelter to adopt, but when she reached out for me and hollered through her cage I wasn’t going to leave her there! Originally her shelter name was Mary, but after two name changes we settled on Bean.

Miso I also adopted from the shelter and his original name was Cannonball and honestly it was fitting as he likes to cannonball onto us during the night. Similar to Bean we had another name picked, but Miso just stuck.

Roogy: Do you have any favorite memories with each of the little babies?

Miggy: Thank you! Some of my favorite memories include-
Traveling with Gohan such as camping in the Appalachians
Reyna, my favorite memory of her is when she’s staring out the window and watching the world go by o
r waking up in the middle of the night to stand on me and look at me face-to-face.
Bean is a simple lady she loves two things;eating food and stealing our plushies and being their
pretend mom.
For Miso it would be the week I brought him home, he sat on my partner’s head and watched us play Pokemon together

Meet Lieutenant Jules’ guinea pigs!

Names: Sprout and Beans
Age: 1 years old
Favorite food: Strawberries
Favorite toy: Cardboard tubes

Stevos interviewed Jules to ask about their cute pets here’s what they had to say:

Stevos: Where did the names come from?
Jules: I actually had no idea what to name them when I first got them, it took a couple days trying to figure it out. I was sitting with my mum and we were randomly throwing names out and she said “Bean and Sprout” (like a beansprout) totally as a joke but then I really liked it and it just kinda stuck.

Stevos: Do they have any fun traits?
Jules: They’re hyperactive! They make the
sweetest little noises and wheeks; sometimes they get the zoomies and do little “popcorns” where they run and hop around.
Stevos: What’s your favorite memory or story with them?
Jules: During t
he summer when there was this big heatwave, they used to love sleeping on my lap in front of the fan. It was so cute because they used to be super skittish when I held them but that was one of the first times they really relaxed when I was handling them.

That’s it for this edition! Stay tuned for the upcoming one to see which pets are being featured next. Keep posting photos of your pets in our #Pets channel for the opportunity to get featured, see you next time!
