Vet Spotlight: Ohasa

Have you ever seen someone with a purple name in chat and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, and this is the twenty sixth edition of the Vet Spotlight column, where we take you back in time to tell the story of our esteemed veterans! Today, we’re telling you the story of our veteran, Ohasa!

Troop Experience

When it comes to RPF you can find it on your own or someone could have recruited you or you may have possibly stumbled upon us during a event! Well in this case our very own vet Ohasa found RPF by chance! When asked if he remember how he found us he said, “I found out about RPF during March 2021, when I was bored one day and decided to see if Club Penguin was still a thing. I was almost instantly recruited by a legend named Yas.”

A picture from the March Madness: Quarterfinals event which is Ohasa first event!

On the first day Ohasa joined RPF, he managed to attended his first event! When asked “What was your first event and what were your first impressions of it?”, Ohasa said, “I don’t remember my first event… but I remember loving getting in formations and sending tactics. It just itches the brain right :)”. However, I did some research since grandpa’s memory is fading and found that his first event (hehe thanks Ohasa for the grandpa idea), was a March Madness tournament! It was during the Quarterfinals where RPF was up against Red Ravagers and in true RPF fashion we sweep all three rooms! What cool fun first event!

When asked how did you first feel when you joined RPF? and What was it like being a new troop in such a big server?, Ohasa explained that at first they were a little intimidated to get into the conversation, and it felt like the people with badges were so famous! But eventually they just jumped in and commented on everything until someone started talking to them!

Ohasa’s Troop of the Week Speech!

On  April 12th, 2024 Ohasa was award the 293 Troop of the Week! Their rank at the time he was awarded was Officer Cadet! When asked “When you received TOTW, what was going on in your mind when you received it?” Ohasa said, “I actually got TOTW in 2024 – three years after joining the server, despite being active in staff (gfx team represent) since Fall 2021. Steax told me that no one realized that I had never gotten TOTW, so they decided to award me before I officially became a member of staff.

To wrap Ohasa experience as troop Ohasa was asked, “Lastly, as a troop did you have any rank goals?”, in which he responded with, “I just wanted a green name and a badge! And to be a member of a community where people recognized me. Ranking up was so fun!”

Mod Experience

On April 8th 2024, Ohasa became cadet along side with his bestie Tulip (formerly known as Woozi) and when asked what made you want to apply for mod?, Ohasa explained that they had bunch of friends that were always in main chat, and how they all just kind of joined together. Ohasa spent three weeks has a cadet before getting promoted to Brigadier General on April 29th 2024! While as staff his mentor was our Second in Command Steax! In which Ohasa mentioned that they were a great mentor and how they were always there if had any questions or needed advice.

Ohasa climbed through the ranks and reached Lieutenant General on July 8th, 2024 the rank they retired with in July 2025. In which Ohasa was asked, “What was your time as staff like, were there any moments that stood out to you as a moderator?“, in he said, “Staffing is a great experience. My staff team quickly became a group of tight knit friends, and we still talk regularly. I loved muting my fellow staff members, that was always fun.”

However thats not’s not all because Ohasa also told a story in which he said, “There is this one story that sticks out to me, however. One time, a member of staff had just defected to another army. I playfully sent .ban @thatperson thinking “Well, they’re not in the server anymore, so it’s alright.” Turns out, my perms were messed up somehow and I ended up banning some poor Troop with the same name. Sorry, bud…”, but don’t worry they got unbanned and everything was fixed.

Some of the graphics that Ohasa did for some of the RPF parties we had! (All pictures where added with permission from Ohasa and where taken from the RPF website)

Parties that were mentioned in the picture above: Rebel Rock Fest, The Great Blizzard, Kingdom of PAW-rty and Anniversary Week.

To wrap Ohasa experience as a mod Ohasa was asked, “As staff, you were part of different fun teams, how did it feel to be part of those teams and have a cool experience to make amazing art for parties/events we had in the server?” in which he responded with “GFX Team Represent! I’m glad to continuously be a part of a team that helps make RPF parties feel more alive and tangible. We have some great talent in all areas in RPF teams.” Thank you Ohasa for all the cool graphics you have done!

Life as Vet

Ohasa retirement announcement made by our Second in Command Steax!

Lastly, its time to talk about Ohasa life as a vet. Ohasa was asked, “How different would you say being an RPF veteran is compared to being enlisted in the army?” in which he responded with “It’s so chill. I do wordle and just come around sometimes to say hi! Good change of pace for me, as my life has become too busy for online penguins😔”. Even though Ohasa is a vet now, he did have some takeaways, skills, and lessons that he learned during his time with RPF, in which he said, “I learned how to take initiative in things, and work towards them. I also learned about team structure, and got great hands on examples of how leadership interacts with their community. RPF has a really robust role system behind the scenes, and I was glad to learn from my experience with it”.

Even though Ohasa is a vet now, he did leave a funny legacy behind, something that will make us laugh and crack jokes when he in main chat. When asked “In your time in RPF, you were/known as “Grandpa”, “Oldasa”, how does it feel to know that you left that funny legacy behind when you still see people in chat call you that?”, Ohasa responded by saying “I feel honored to be a boomer. It makes me smile every time! (but then I have to take a nap)”. If you see Ohasa in chat make sure to say hi grandpa!

To wrap things up Ohasa was asked one more thing which was “Lastly, if you could offer one piece of advice to newer troops, what would it be? And is there any advice you’d want to give to future staff members?” in which he responded by saying “Get in there! Chat away, even if you think no one wants to see your message. Eventually, you’ll catch on. Oh, and prewrite your posts! Helps a ton.”

That wraps up this edition of Vet Spotlight! Huge thank you to Ohasa for the incredible amount of work you’ve put in to the RPF, and for allowing me the opportunity to interview for this edition! and thank you to all the readers that have made it this far down into the post!

Stay tuned for future editions of Vet Spotlight!
