Have you ever seen someone with a purple name in chat and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, and this is the nineteenth edition of the Vet Spotlight column, where we take you back in time to tell the story of our esteemed veterans! Today, we’re telling you the story of our veteran, Patro!
Troop Experience

Like many, Patro stumbled upon RPF by chance! When asked if he remember how he found us he said, “I believe it was a Shark-themed event on CP Journey, and RPF was at the Cove performing an amazing array of pun tactics and sharp formations that I found so captivating. I switched my outfit to join in the fun” and soon after the event was they were directed to the Discord by several people including by our Vet Tulip (formerly known as Woozi) and our Colonel 37terre.

Aside from the Shark-themed event that they stumbled up, Patro also mentioned “One of my first events was a community Pride one. This was very special and really made me fall in love with RPF and the shared values of the community“.

When asked how did you first feel when you joined RPF? and What was it like being a new troop in such a big server?, Patro explained that it was definitely daunting at first, since the community and existing friendships being well established made them cautious to engage with people at first. But everyone seeing being so welcoming and kind made them feel that they were able to settle in so quickly ❤️.
On June 24th, 2024 Parto was award the 299 Troop of the Week! Their rank at the time he was awarded was Sergeant! When asked “When you received TOTW, what was going on in your mind when you received it?” Parto, said, “Firstly – shock, because the announcement comes from out of the blue and you’re inundated by congratulations from your fellow RPF members. And then excitement and joy. I remember being in awe at the past names that had been on the list, and where they had worked up to in present day RPF. To feel part of something so vast and honored was exciting and motivating as a new member”.

Patro’s Troop of the Week Speech!
To wrap Patro experience as troop Patro was asked, “Lastly, as a troop did you have any rank goals?”, in which he responded with “Of course! The weekly promotion system definitely motivated me to want to climb the ranks, and the idea of being staff was truly very exciting as a newcomer“. Which bring us as his time as a mod!
Mod Experience

On August 5th 2024, Patro became cadet along side with his bestie Buhnny! and with our Colonel Toad and when asked what made you want to apply for mod?, Patro explained that it was just the natural progression, and how he was keen to experience more responsibilities within RPF – particularly the CP News team which had been a dream role for him (which paid off because he made the team!). While, Patro was a cadet his mentor was our third in command Madz who was a general at the time. Patro spent two weeks has a cadet before getting promoted to Brigadier General on August 19th 2024! While as staff his mentor was our Rebel Commander Gabi!

Patro climbed though the ranks and reached general on December 9th, 2025 along with his bestie Buhnny! When it came to how different was being a general for you compared to mod ranks below?, Patro explained that the main difference was the responsibility of having a mentee, other than that it was very similar. As a general you get to mentor cadets and when asked “What was mentoring cadets like for you personally?”, Patro said, ” I had several mentees as a General. My mentoring experience was actually quite difficult, as it does require a lot of time and energy. One of my mentees in particular was quite challenging and I found that quite exhausting to have to deal with. My other mentees were really kind though, which made for a very positive experience!”

Patro suggesting the #stamp-help channel in suggestions
To wrap Patro experience as a mod Patro was asked, ” What was your time as staff like, were there any moments that stood out to you as a moderator?“, in which he responded with ” I had the most incredible time as a staff member in RPF, with so many incredible memories to look back on. Of course, taking part in the big battles such as during the war with the Secret Service, and tournament battles from the Legends Cup XIV and Christmas Chaos. Aside from those major occasions, it was the time spent playing CP Journey with my fellow RPF members, laughing and joking in main/staff chats, hosting fashion show break days with my bestie Buhnny, and getting to be creative through the RPF staff teams, including writing for the CP News, Tuxedo Times and other columns. One very special highlight was in September 2024 when my idea to have a ‘stamp help’ channel on the Discord was introduced, and I think it’s been pretty successful since!”
Life as Vet
Lastly, its time to about Patro life as a vet. Patro was asked, “How different would you say being an RPF veteran is compared to being enlisted in the army?” in which he responded with “It’s an entirely different experience! RPF has such a strong, wonderful veteran community because the staff and leaders are always so kind and inclusive. Being able to join in battles or casual events is a lot of fun, and allows us to relive those great memories.” Even though Patro is a vet now, he did have some takeaways, skills, and lessons that he learned during his time with RPF like how to be a team player, how to communicate with different types of people, and enjoying the journey in the present moment!

During RPF 18th Anniversary an announcements was made about how the stamp-help channel have helped so many people!
Even now as vet, Patro still has a big impact in RPF! When asked, “How does it feel to know that your contributions, like the Stamp Help channel and your blog, continue to make such a positive impact on so many people every day, even after retirement?“, Patro responded by saying ” It’s a really amazing feeling, especially as the stamp channel was only originally introduced under a trial basis – and I wasn’t even sure it would be used! The fact that it’s still going and is being used by so many players makes me really happy! And it’s also wonderful my blog still allows CP Journey players to find this awesome community, especially as I’ve started it back up again in August!”

Patro’s Club Penguin Journey Blog
To wrap things up Patro was asked one more thing which was “Lastly, if you could offer one piece of advice to newer troops, what would it be? And is there any advice you’d want to give to future staff members?” in which he responded by saying ” My advice for new troops would be: don’t forget to comment for a promotion each week! And my advice for future staff members is be proactive and get creative with new ideas!
That wraps up this edition of Vet Spotlight! Huge thank you to Patro for the incredible amount of work you’ve put in to the RPF, and for allowing me the opportunity to interview for this edition! and thank you to all the readers that have made it this far down into the post!
Stay tuned for future editions of Vet Spotlight!
