ART COLUMN – 02/16/21

Welcome to the twenty-first edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Yvng, YipYorp, Sharki, and Cracked) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

”In Bloom” made by Ash, RPF Lieutenant General

This week’s Featured Artist is Ash!

Ash has earned this week’s featured title with this astounding piece made on a poster board with a variety of artificial flowers and hot glue! It’s dedicated to the kindergarten class she works with and it took her an entire weekend!

As for what inspired her to make it, she explains that the importance of every single person, and accepting that everyone is beautiful in their own way, despite their differences, should be instilled at an early age, making it the perfect message to share with her class in a creative way!

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here is some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by none other than our fellow troops!

”Puffle Party”, made by tegan4730, RPF private

”As the night progresses, the puffles and the rebel penguins started enjoying the company and fun amongst each other!”
Tegan originally drew this piece for the recent RPF fanart contest. They worked very hard on this drawing, making three different drafts to really perfect it! All the hard work definitely paid off, great job tegan!

”RPF Uniforms”, made by Coric, RPF Officer Cadet

This piece is a redraw of one of the very first RPF drawings Coric ever made! It depicts a rebel penguin in the classic uniform, as well as troops in the Air Force and Navy branches! You can really tell how far Coric has come with their art; the proportions, coloring, and linework all look so smooth!

“Thin Ice”, made by Scarlemagne, RPF Colonel

Scarlemagne made this lovely drawing while painting with friends one day. It features their Club Penguin obsession- the minigame Thin Ice! The game is certainly frustrating, but also very fun. Scarlemagne really captured the frantic yet exciting feeling of the game with this painting, amazing work!

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Week was Love!

”The Tangled Lanterns”, made by Lanie, RPF General

”It’s my version of the lantern scene from the movie tangled! That movie is one of my favorites and I think this scene is so beautifully orchestrated it’s iconic. And the music that goes along with it is literally chefs kiss so there’s just so much to enjoy.”

”tf2_valentines.png”, made by Zee, RPF Specialist

”Just two homies living the domestic life!!!”

“Ms. Cupid with a lazer thing”, made by Ariana, RPF Colonel

“Here is Ms. Cupid but instead of a bow and arrow she uses a lazer thing instead! I was originally gonna draw a bow and arrow, but then I just decided to be a bit creative and then I imagined Cupid using lazers to make people fall in love, and then this drawing happened!”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week will be… Video games! Who doesn’t love video games? We can’t deny that Club Penguin is indeed the best game ever made, but we are allowing you to feature any other video game this time, so embrace your inner gamer and surprise us with your art! Make sure to put #rpfacvideogames in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
