ART COLUMN – 03/05/23

Welcome to the fifty-seventh edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Moonlemur, EllaBella and Tomatoe) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Theme of the Month

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Month was Spring!

“Spring Has Sprung!”, by Gianna

“Going for long walks around my neighborhood and spotting all of the different flowers that bloom is definitely my favorite activity around this time of year. So naturally, when I moved houses this past November, I couldn’t wait for spring so that I could explore the different trees and flowers. This tree in particular definitely succeeded all of my expectations! <33”

“A beautiful pop of color” by bubbles

“Its always nice to go on a walk especially when all the trees are full and there are beautiful flowers and colorful trees around and this tree so happened to just he hidden behind all the full green trees and it looked so pretty with the tall naked trees in the back and with the way the sun hits it too it all just comes together nicely”

Club Penguin Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

“Night at the Fair”, made by Coric

“A little practice drawing penguins again”

“Cadence-Inspired Easter Egg”, made by LittySkitty

“I created this egg in Procreate just in time for Easter! I wanted to base it off of the Club Penguin mascot Cadence and thought it would be super cute to feature her iconic purple hair and yellow-and-pink scarf. Since her colors are already bright and pastelly, it makes for a perfect Easter egg.”

Other Art

“Toni Kensa advertisement” by Hawtsus

“I’ve lowkey been invested in splatoon brands since some of the game designs look cool. I also saw some “advertisements” for some brands which inspired me to make some myself, especially the Kensa brand because some of the gear looks so cool in contrast with the vibrant colors of the game”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Our next theme will be… Celebrations! With the sixteenth anniversary of RPF upon us, this is the perfect opportunity to create art about any meaningful and fulfilling celebrations. By participating, you will also be able to check off one of the Bingo tasks for this special week! Make sure to put #rpfaccelebrations in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!

Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go. Nah, I'm going to do my own thing.
