ART COLUMN – 3/16/21

Welcome to the twenty-fifth edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Yvng, YipYorp, Sharki, and Cracked) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

”Snowflakes in my hair” made by jj, RPF Colonel

This week’s featured artist is jj!

We were impressed with jj’s creative gif, which was made with an Autodesk SketchBook mobile app and only took her one day to make!
This friendly cartoon human is inspired by some of the things jj likes most, such as clouds, snowflakes and comfy clothes, and she even made it move and groove!

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

”Dreamy Penguin” made by Luna, RPF Specialist

”Just a penguin that had a dream about space, nothing much to it.”

Comic

A very talented rebel has voluntereed to make an original comic featuring RPF staff in funny situations inspired by daily conversations in main chat! Enjoy this week’s comic edition brought to us by Coric!

”Comedy Police” made by Coric, RPF Officer Cadet

In this hilarious piece, we can see our lovely Major General Missy making bread puns about our Third in Command Panini, but the Comedy Police (aka General Woogs) shows up just in time to arrest Missy for making such a funny joke, while the staff member tries to run away.

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic per week to challenge our artists and see the best they come up with. If you’d like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Week was Dreams!

”Nightsky” made by GreenGreen, RPF Specialist

“My art was inspired by the theme because my favourite types of dreams would be of peaceful places, and painting a person watching the starry night is a perfect example of that. I’ve also added some surreal elements to make the piece more dream-like, such as the blue glow of the meteors and resting on clouds. Overall, this is how I imagine dreams would be like.”

”Snoopy on the Moon” made by z3ming, RPF General

“I had a pfp similar to this once so i made it a pixel art and dreams are in sky with stars and moon”

”Dreamy Sky” by Makzing, RPF Lieutenant Colonel

“As soon as I heard Dreamy I started imagining a dream that consisted on a sky trip where you were levitating with closed eyes and just reaching the maximum happiness state”

”Acrophobia” made by Jaeun, RPF Lieutenant General

“I often have nightmares about endlessly falling from the sky so i thought ‘why not make the sky look pretty so i’d be less scared of it?”

”My Dreams” made by Lugia, RPF Private

“This is my entry. I usually dream about different interests of mine coming all together to do or solve one thing or another. Each dream usually ends up having a moral of some sort, but I think the true meaning is to never lose sight of your goal.”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week will be… Home! Transform any sensations that thinking of home might give you into art! Will it be nostalgia? Happiness? Coziness? Only your art will tell! Make sure to put #rpfachome in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more! Be creative!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
