ART COLUMN – 8/10/21

Welcome to the thirty-fifth edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Yvng, Cracked, Eskild, and Jaeun) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

”Futurepunk Nissan”, made by Bread, RPF Private

“I drew it digitally, materials wise I guess I used Krita as my program. My inspiration were a set of Artem Solop illustrations, and it took roughly 8 hours to draw.”

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

“HCOM and Officers”, made by Coric, RPF Major General

”I’ve had the idea of making this portrait for awhile, and I really wanted to test my skills of making more than just a plain smiling portrait. After 9 hours, I am really happy with how it turned out! In row 1 we can see Yoda, Sarah, Z3, and Emerald. Row 2 features Link, Pedro, Jae, Prin, F6 and Guinz. Row 3 has Marie, Paddy, Lanie, Alienn, Anya and Penho. Row 4 shows Yas, Mars, Elex, Brat, Avril and Bubbles. Finally, in row 5 there’s Bren, Yvng, Yo Gal, Eskild, Coric, and Cracked.”

”Hot penguin in the middle of nowhere”, made by TexasToast73, RPF Specialist

”A penguin standing all alone in a blank room waiting for friends.”

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Week was Sci-Fi!

“What If Life’s Just a Simulation?”, made by jjsnowflake, RPF Colonel

”I really wanted to use my willow charcoals I bought a while ago at an art supply shop as I’ve never really used charcoal before and just happens, art column just released a new theme. So I racked my brain for sci-fi ideas to draw and then i thought about how I sometimes wonder if we’re actually living in a simulation.. :aPES_Think: I mean, had that thought ever ran through your mind? It’s a scary thought, but life has so many unanswered questions.”

”Psychedelic”, made by Makzing, RPF Colonel

”Well, this drawing (that I made mid class LOL) is the attempt of making a representation of a psychedelic trip that ended up turning into those crazy doodles. It fits the sci-fi theme because I feel like a lot of these psychedelic trips have this sense of dimensions and weird objects that are also heavily present in sci-fi.”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week will be… Technology! Clearly being a dominant part of our lives, technology offers us unlimited possibilities. When we combine all of them with endless creativity, the stage is set for astounding art, and we can’t wait to see your own creations. Remember, technology evolves every day, no limits! Make sure to put #rpfactechnology in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
