Happy birthday Minecraft. You’re officially 11 years old. What a milestone. If someone told me 11 years ago that you would be such an icon I wouldn’t have believed them, but now looking back at it you truly deserve to be such a highly respected game. I remember back to when I was a young lad. On the house computer or in my room on my Xbox playing you and having nothing in the world to worry about. You have helped me form so many relationships those which have lasted a lifetime. Your simplicity and creativity are what make you you and what made all of us come to love you. I remember coming home and hoping on to play with my friends in their servers/worlds, whether that be creative, survival, or hardcore. I recall every update. The texture update when cobblestone and bricks colors were toned to more grayscaled, the villages, the xp and potions update, the end, the wither, the red stone update I and many others were there to see it, to see YOU evolve into who you have become today. It’s been a long time coming and you’ve done the best you can. You weren’t conformed by micro transactions, or dlc you were a wholesome game that provided hours of entertainment for only $20. Even when we left you to play other games you were there waiting for us, patiently. We came back to you for even more hours of fun and entertainment. Even the youtubers who were there during your time. Skydoesminecraft, Deadlox, Aviatorgaming, Yogscast, Sethbling, Antvenom, Captain Sparklez etc. all of them are part of our childhood and we have you to thank. Many other games will come around to try to be you but nothing will compare. Minecraft you are forever going to be in our hearts as best game. And for that we thank you, me and all the others who had the chance to enjoy you we love you.
