100 days ago we launched Operation: Centurion, a 100 day long operation, in which we hosted an event every single day for 100 days. The grand finale was set to be our 18th anniversary gala, with a goal of maxing 100+ without the assistance of allies.
This idea was brewing for over 18 months without much progress other than just…a very vague idea. Its predecessor was the Holiday Hundred back for which you can read about here. Following our incredible success in the Autumn Tundra Clash and the Christmas Chaos XIV tournament, we felt it was the right time to start thinking about planning it, given how much more alive the community seemed to be.
We wanted the big 100 to end on a significant day for us but we weren’t sure what, as tournaments and Olympic dates were unpredictable. We realized that if we launched the operation about 10 days from then, the big finale would end on our anniversary. That would allow us only 10 days to plan and announce, but the opportunity was too big to pass.
We set to do many bold things that hopefully would keep the operation and hype alive. Monthly Party Planning Committees, a constant stream of prizes for anyone to purchase, a Recruitathon, the complete revamp of our Rebel Cash Economy, and all this, alongside the CPA Organized tournaments.
The Anniversary week came and went and so did our gala. It is at this point that I am sad to announce that we did not manage to hit our original goal of 100+ on the 100th event. However, despite that, I would call this operation far from a failure. Because even though we did not reach that size goal, here is a list of everything we’ve accomplished in just the last 100 days.
– Placing 1st in the Candy Crash Brawl Tournament. A FFA-style tournament that we had never participated in before.
– Placing 1st in the March Madness X Tournament. Additionally, not only did we win every battle in that tournament, we won every single room that we fought in.
– Consistently increased our regular event and tournament maxes, almost doubling them from the past 2 years.
– Gaining over 2000 members and reaching 17k members in the span of 100 days, when before it took us 2 years to move from 13k to 14k.
– Maxing 70+ in our 18th anniversary, a size almost double of what we achieved last year.
– A total of 324 people participating in Operation: Centurion
– Reaching 1st in Top Ten of The Month for the months of March and April
– Monthly Party Planning Committee Parties
– Brought back the value of Rebel Cash
The entire Operation has brought the community so much closer together which was ultimately is the goal here. Throughout the last 100 days, we’ve seen a new wave of members, a new generation even, ready to begin their journey in RPF.
As much as it saddens me to not reach what we originally set out to achieve, it brings me just as much joy to see and discover what we ended up achieving in the end.
I would like to take this moment to give my deepest gratitude to our Officer team and anyone that has been part of the Officer team in the last 100 days. The backbone of the community and the reason so much of this was even possible. They spent countless time recruiting, hyping and doing everything to keep the spirit of Operation: Centurion alive.
To the troops, thank you for being part of Operation: Centurion. Without you there would not be anything for us to work towards. We hope you enjoyed every aspect of it and we are excited to continue creating such events for you. Thank you for all your support during this.
And last but not least, to the HCOM and Advisors, thank you for all your help organizing and running the Operation.
We will see you all at the next one. Until then, keep Fighting the Good Fight.
