TROOP INTERVIEWS – Penho, Yummy, Retirees

Troop Interviews

This week marks the sixty-ninth official edition of “Troop Interviews”, where our interviewers (currently Brenatto, Yvng, Mars, and Cracked) asks questions to RPF troops. Interviews won’t have same questions; each interview’s purpose is to show originality. Along with that, the questions help us understand each soldier as well as our differences and similarities. There’s an exponential amount of soldiers here in the Rebel Penguin Federation, so it will be difficult to get to everyone who requests an interview. The Rebel Broadcast Team graciously appreciates the patience you all have and hopes to see you guys in a post one day!

The three interviewees for this week are Penho, Yummy, and some of our retired officers!

Penho

Woah, hi there! This is Cracked, and I’ll be your host for this edition of Troop Interviews! We have quite a few interesting interviews to uncover, so let’s get right on it!
We’ll start off with Penho, the army’s newest Second in Command, who has been interviewed by his fellow rank buddy, Brenatto!

How different do you think 2ic has been in comparison to 3ic?

Penho mentions how he still hadn’t noticed any significant changes yet, but he does indeed sound eager to work on new and bigger things moving forward! According to Bren, 2ic is not that different to 3ic, other than the new role colour. Getting used to the colour does sound like a difficult task, that’s for sure!

Do you aspire to become Rebel Commander one day?

For the next question, Bren inquires about Penho’s goals in the server: will we see Pen in a glowing red name? Well, he points out that personal life can be unpredictable, so he doesn’t have a set goal in mind, which Bren completely understands, and so do I, no need to sweat it! Also, Navy is definitely superior to Air Force, but that’s a story for another time!

What’s your advice for troops who aspire to be HCOM someday?

Next, Bren has an interesting question for Penho, and this one is dedicated to all troops who are reading this! Penho’s advice for all troops who wish to become HCOM is, firstly and also most importantly, do not choose him as your mentor! Actually, not really, oops!
What Penho does suggest is to just enjoy the server, be yourself and take criticism. Valuable piece of advice right there, I’m taking notes! As Bren points out, staff is here to help you achieve your potential, so don’t be afraid to reach out to any of us for help!

What would you say is your proudest accomplishment so far in RPF?

Bren proceeds to ask about Penho’s biggest accomplishment in the RPF, and he marks both of his HCOM promos as huge milestones! You don’t get an HCOM promotion every day, so those are definitely big steps in his penguin career, not to mention all the work he puts into the social media team. Bren also thinks Penho’s promo was well deserved, and is also excited about what’s next for the social media team. And yes, brainstorming sadly be like that sometimes.

What’s your favorite vine?

For Bren’s last question, which is not RPF-related, but rather zoomer-culture related, he asks about Penho’s favorite vine, and he is excited to demonstrate his passion for them!
Despite Penho mentioning some funny vines, he does agree with Bren that the message is more important than the video itself, even if some folks don’t get the joke sometimes!
Special thanks to Penho for the brilliant interview! Now, let’s all welcome…

Yummy

Yvng was able to reach out to Yummy, a recent TOTW, for a fun interview.
Let’s see how it went!

They do seem ready, and so does Yvng!

How does it feel to have become Troop of the Week?

For the first question, Yvng was curious about Yummy’s reaction to becoming Troop of the Week, and they describe it as unexpected! I agree with both Yummy and Yvng here: it definitely is unexpected, especially when it happens before a special moment such as, in Yummy’s case, a talent show.

Why do you think you earned Troop of the Week?

Moving on, Yvng asks Yummy about why they think they deserved the title, and they reply by saying that RPF’s anniversary week helped her get more active in the server, and the same goes for the AUSIA Ascension week that we had! Yvng points out how many people became active during these special weeks, and it was indeed great to see Yummy being such an active and friendly face in chat! Also, you should go check out their art right after reading this, top tier quality stuff!

What advice would you give to other troops who aspire to be Troop of the Week?

For Yvng’s next question, he’d like to know about the tips and tricks Yummy would give to other troops who are aiming to get to TOTW.
They do give some wholesome and quality advice, as troops being active, kind and forming friendly relationships is what we love to see in chat! As Yvng says, be sure to take notes!

What place would you like to travel to the most?

For a different kind of question, Yvng asks about Yummy’s dream travel destination, which seems to be either Korea or the USA, according to them! Yvng is quick to recommend NYC for a first time visit there, and dang, would I love to travel to any of those places. Time to do an Iron Curtain all the way to California then!

What other goals do you hope to achieve in RPF?

For Yvng’s final question, he wants to know about Yummy’s aims in the army, and boy are they big! From obtaining at least 20 snazzy roles from the server (pssst, you checked out our seasonal roles yet?) to getting to Officer or 3ic, anything’s possible with a bit of hard-work. I’m with Yvng, can’t wait to see what Yummy is able to do in their time here, we may be seeing them in red soon! And yes, AUSIA SUPREMACY.

Last words?

Yvng wraps up the interview by congratulating Yummy on TOTW once more, and they also encourage you all to DM them if you’d like to be friends, or be featured in a future art piece. We love a good plug! Thanks so much for the interview, Yummy!

And to finish up this edition, it’s time for…

Missy & Sharki

What better way to end this edition than with an interview to two of our former Officers? Let’s see what Mars was able to get from both of them!

Starting off fresh, Mars asks how Sharki and Missy are doing! Luckily school is ending for all of us, so that means life is good! Shout-out to those who are still in school, you all got this!

What do you plan to spend more time doing now that you are no longer staff?

Onto the first actual question, Mars is curious about how the two former mods will manage their time now that they don’t have to deal with staff duties, and while school still has them a little busy, there’s no doubt they’ll be able to enjoy fun stuff like Minecraft (best game) and also spending more time with family and friends, lovely to see Sharki and Missy vibing!

How has RPF changed in your opinion since you first joined?

Next up, Mars brings a really interesting question. Missy and Sharki have been around for quite a while now, they do be official RPF Corona boomers! Many things have changed since last year. According to Missy, main chat is calmer now that there’s less people attending events so it’s easier to get along with each other, while Sharki notes the changes in people’s ranks and how the server feels more welcoming and less crazy.
Mars agrees with those points, and I have to as well! All four of us joined sometime during the Corona boom, so there’s a more noticeable change too.

What has been your favorite memory so far in RPF?

As for the following question, Mars asks our interviewees about their favorite moment in the server. For Missy, it has to be the Summer Olympics, even if Team Griffin (best team, not biased at all) lost, but everyone was so welcoming that it made up for it!
Sharki, on the other hand, has a top 3 list of favorite moments which include the Summer Olympics once again, as well as the moment of getting staff, which I agree is an exciting time, and also CCX and the Fight or Fright tourney. Really exciting times in RPF indeed.

I completely agree with this, hyping up huge tourneys is so fun, and finally seeing your hard-work pay off by watching your name in green in the promo page is so satisfactory. The friends you make as staff and all those cool memories are always there to stay too. As Mars says, doot gang best gang!

What is your favorite food?

Finishing up, Mars asks Sharki and Missy about their favorite food, hardest question by a long shot! Will they be able to decide?

Solid picks. Sushi is great and watermelon is very tasty in the summer. Pineapple fried rice is an interesting choice as well! And chicken tenders, fries, and…. I’m actually starting to get hungry now so…

Final words?

Missy encourages everyone to try and beat Mars & Sharki’s message count from last summer! They went off, not gonna lie, going to be hard to beat! Good luck to any contestants! They also hope to be more active now that school is ending. Also, I agree with Sharki, troops should rank up, it’s fun!

It was amazing to have both Sharki and Missy present for an interview, maybe they’ll rejoin one day and look back to this post!

And that’s all! It was nice to get the perspective of former Officers and see how they are doing now, wishing the best for them!

Time for me to waddle away! Being your host today was genuinely fun and I can’t wait to be here for another round! Until then, I hope you will all wait patiently for the next edition of Troop Interviews.
