Vet Spotlight: Lanie

Have you ever seen someone with a purple name and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, this is the eleventh edition of the Vet Spotlight column, where we take you back in time to tell the story of our esteemed veterans! Today we’re telling you the story of our Veteran, Lanie.

Lanie’s first steps into RPF begins on April 30th, 2020 being recruited by Lieutenant General Trackling on Club Penguin Rewritten
Lanie’s first introduction into the RPF Discord #Welcome channel

Troo

Lanie explained that it was a very scary time for her being a new Troop in such a large server, attempted to join in a conversation or two, but figured she would later forget the server. However, during the playing of a movie titled Lemonade Mouth she was able to join in the fun, engage with the community, and make new friends!

From here Lanie continued to grow at the rank of Master Sergeant she became Troop of the week #148
She even had a goal to reach rank Scout Medic, which she completed on June 29th, 2020 when achieving this goal, her friends encouraged (bullied) her to not just stop there, but was able to rank all the way up to Third in Command.

Officer Cadet

On August 24, 2020 she rose to Officer Cadet and what made her apply was having  some close friends like Princhi that shared the same rank with her, but also friends like Panini and Brad that had moved on to Officer. However, everyone helped her in different ways and made an uplifting impact on her.
Some of her favorite moments being Cadet was having Steax has her mentor and crushing the goals they set, along with bonding with her fellow cadets.

Officer

From September 7th, 2020-December 21, 2021 Lanie was Officer for a total of 15 months 2 weeks.
Some of her
most memorable moments when reaching Officer were:
Joining the Party Planning Committee (PPC) and her favorite party was the Rebel Potter Week. that consisted of writing quizzes, graphics, helping Z3ming with sorting houses etc.
Upon becoming HCOM her favorite moment from that time was leading her beloved team- PPC with Avril! Along with doing graphics for the Olympics and parties!
When asked she continues to do graphics in her spare time!

HCOM

On April 19th, 2021 received Third in Command she was HCOM for a little over 4 months before joining those before her earning the purple badge,  retiring on September 6th, 2021.

There were times she did return to the ranks reaching Officer, however it wasn’t in the cards for her to stay due to her personal life, but she still continues to be apart of the community, being a friendly face around #Main-chat and helping out when she can.

Fun Questions:

1. Who inspired you throughout your time in RPF?
funnily enough link even though they joined way after me as well as crazzy! crazzy was my mentor when I was mod and even as a baby troop I would go to her for advice regarding the penguins and even school! link became one of my closest friends and he really helped me with penguins, my overthinking, and just being such a kind soul

2. What is your favorite event/type of event?
legends cup x semifinals against the ice warriors. we had like 170 or more people on and it was just such an awesome experience! wars come as a close second honestly. war declarations are always so interesting to me!

3. As a whole what has been your favorite experiences in RPF?
meeting the new faces. there’s always the click when I meet new people and I can tell how awesome and genuine they are. I remember being so scared when I retired that I wouldn’t be able to connect with troops bc I was purple but with time I’ve just gotten to know some amazing people and I cherish that with my whole heart

4. How long after you joined RPF did Bruce become an RPF Troop too?
