This October, The Party Planning Committee has brought us yet another fun week this month filled with lots of spooky events and fangtastic memories. What went down this week you may ask, well we were brought Rebel Horror Hotel Week! This special week was filled with lots of fun centered around the movie franchise, Hotel Transylvania.
Enough talk let’s dive into what happened during:
The Announcement
On Monday, the 25th, the Party Planning Committee introduced us to Rebel Horror Hotel Week, filled with lots of events and challenges for the Rebels to partake. The PPC sent the Rebels to do multiple tasks including the Character Quiz to gain the cool role of Vampire, Invisible Person, Mummy, or Frankenstein depending on your results, a bingo card to complete in which if you do complete if you get the exclusive Bingo Boomer role, voting for the Monster Mash Gala on Halloween, and of course events throughout the week.

The week was filled with spooktacular events that were themed around Halloween and Hotel Transylvania. In total there were 2 movie showings of Hotel Transylvania, 9 events, and one of those 9 events being the big Gala on Halloween. Without further ado here are the Event Recaps!
On Monday during US time, the first movie showing went down which was Hotel Transylvania 2. The Rebels shortly had a good time filled with lots of laughs from the Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez starred comedy.
On Tuesday we saw two events, Operation: Sweet As Pie [AUSIA] and Operation: Candy Hunt [US]. They were both very special events as the AUSIA event was a Candy Pizzatron event, while the US was a classic Hide and Seek.

Behind the scenes (again) with Jaeun and Avril
Behind the scenes (again) with Jaeun and Avril
Just a fortnight ago, we interviewed Jae and Avril (both are the current co-leaders of the Party Planning Committee) for a review of Branch Spirit Weekend [read more here]. Impressive work from the PPC once again as they organised their second event of the month and gave Rebels a great Halloween-themed week to celebrate. We sat down once again with Jae and Avril to find out more about their thoughts on Rebel Horror Hotel Week and what could we expect in the future!
Q: What was your favourite part of the week?
Avril: Oh my favorite part of the week was the Wednesday EU fashion show! Everyone had such amazing costumes, and I loved seeing everyone go on stage one by one. It reminded me of some similar fun times I had as a troop. There were tons of hilarious and memorable moments too (3 of them were immediately pinned in main chat; quite the record haha!). Definitely an event people won’t forget for a while! I hope we do more fashion shows like that.
Jae: I didn’t really get the chance to partake in the party much, since I’m AUSIA and I’m only around for AUSIA events, but I’d have to say the monster quiz? It was lovely seeing everyone get hyped about their role color, and be excited about taking the quiz, etc.! Our team worked very hard on that quiz and so seeing about a hundred people take the quiz just make it all worth it.
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how successful do you think the event was? (How do you think people liked it?)
Avril: Maybe an 8? I definitely liked it, and I think overall it was a success. I saw quite a few people say they liked it too, which made me happy. The bingo was a cool and interesting new feature that we’d never done before either. I think some people were definitely frustrated by a few of the bingo elements though, and the giveaways were hard to balance and plan. If we ever do bingo again, we’ll have to plan it more carefully!
Jae: I think it was very successful! A lot of people were doing the bingo and the quizzes, troops were hyped about events, we had a lot of giveaways, and everyone just seemed to be in good spirits that week. We had a ton of fun planning Rebel Horror Hotel so I’m glad the rest of the server had a ton of fun participating as well.
Q: We recently held Rebel Branch Spirit Weekend. What made PPC decide to organise a Halloween Week so soon after and do you celebrate Halloween personally?
Avril: Well, we always have to plan something for Halloween of course! It’s such a big and important holiday. We really wanted to have our Halloween Week be around the actual date of Halloween too so we’d be connecting to that and the CPR Halloween party. There was no realistic option of moving the week anywhere else since it’d be conflicting with other events or it’d be too late! I do celebrate Halloween! I love celebrating things, and who can say no to delicious Halloween treats and fun costumes?
Jae: My first PPC party as a troop was I think, Rebel Potter Week? It was last year’s version of Halloweek and everyone were so happy about it and I made a ton of friends from that party, so it was imperative for us to do it again! We love any excuse to gather and celebrate. It was no easy feat planning and executing two parties with just a week of break between them but we had the rest of PPC helping out and tossing ideas so it was pretty fun for us as well. My family personally doesn’t celebrate Halloween? I’ve never experienced dressing up or trick or treating since my parents are mostly religious, so the only ‘celebration’ we do is visiting cemeteries and leaving flowers for passed relatives.
Q: Lastly, with so many successful events in the past couple of months, what exciting events can rebels look forward to from the PPC in the near future? Any hints as to what the theme will be?
Avril: I don’t want to spoil the surprise! No hints, but I’ll say we already have some fun ideas and plans for future parties. Stay tuned!
Jae: My lips are sealed!!! Definitely watch out for winter though.
Thank you Jae and Avril for taking the time to be interviewed, and a big congratulations to both of you for leading such a successful Halloweek! We are looking forward to many more fun PPC events ahead!
Conclusion
It is sad to see the end of Rebel Horror Hotel, we hope you enjoyed your stay! As they say, all good things must come to an end… BUT do look forward to more exciting events to be held by the PPC! A big thank you and shout out to the PPC members for organising such a fun-filled week, full of fashion shows, spooktacular tactics and even scary formations!! Also, not forgetting the people who contributed to the huge success – the rebels who attended the events, you all were GREAT!!
Stay tuned for the next themed event (I wonder what’s there in winter) brought to you by the Party Planning Committee Rebels!
