ART COLUMN – 05/26/21

Welcome to the thirty-first edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Yvng, YipYorp, Cracked and Eskild) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due to so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

”Alaska” by Phantom, RPF Veteran

”What inspired this was a song I sang in choir class called Aurora Borealis (A song of Alaska). It was one of my favorite songs we’ve sang in that class. It was that and my admiration for just the beauty of unicorns at the time. I used an app called Autodesk Sketchbook to draw this. Yes, I drew the whole thing on my phone, with my thumb and finger. It took many hours of my free time, but it was worth it. Looking back on it now, it looks kind of bad, since my art has generally improved a lot, but it’s still one of my best finished pieces to date.”

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF-related art made by our fellow troops!

”Penguin Polaroid” by imatsoup, RPF Master Sergeant

An enthusiastic meeting between a curious penguin and a RPF member, with a cameo from best force!
”RPF and IW” by star, RPF Private First Class

”The inspiration for this art was both RPF and IW. It represents the spirit of both armies, their dedication to club penguin rewritten, their troops and the excellent leadership. And yes i was also practising shading :o”

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!
This week’s Theme of the Week was Food!

”Buffle Brice Crispie” by alienn, RPF Major

“A Rice Krispie treat with chocolate frosting, marshmallows, and chocolate chips as the decorations. I had a craving to make some and remembered the art column was food themed, so my creation was born that payed homage to our favourite STEM puffle <3”
”Rpf-o-cado” by Missy, RPF Lieutenant

”Just made a fun piece because rpf avocado? Why not :)”
”Shading Practice” by Essjay, RPF Colonel

”This is just some standard shading practice I made during the Rebel Records anniversary podcast! I love listening to a podcast while I’m drawing and I would certainly recommend it. I also really enjoy working with charcoal, as it’s quite forgiving and easy to shade with!”
”Christmas Bakes” by jjsnowflake, RPF Colonel

”Made these gingerbread cuties last Christmas, had so much fun icing them up! I mean 9 different coloured icing to doodle on yummy cookies. It was the first time I had such a variety of colours for icing and I sure made the most out of it!”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week is… Landscapes! Aren’t they such a wonderful expression of art? Capture the most vibrant landscapes in a picture, drawing, or any other creative method and impress everyone with the stunning views! Make sure to put #rpfaclandscapes in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
