ART COLUMN – 11/16/21

Welcome to the forty-first edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Anya, Cracked, Emerald, Sharki, and Yvng) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

“Wintery Sunset” by Legacy, RPF Colonel

This Week’s Featured Artist is Legacy!

Legacy made this painting last year in December. This was mainly inspired by the cold weather and she loves seeing the sunset and she has always wanted it to snow on Christmas! It took her a couple weeks to finish! What materials I used: I have 5 different sized brushes and which of the five I used for different parts of the painting depended on the area of the painting, and the paint itself is acrylic paint that I got for my birthday that year

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

“The (Unofficial Fanmade) Rebel Federation Crest” by PingoBoiii, RPF Corporal

“This was made by discord user Fred5018#4478, decided to do this cuz why not? The medieval crests in fairs inspired me.”

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!

This week’s Theme of the Week was Fall!

“Perpetually FALLing Leaves” by Quix, RPF Sergeant

“This piece was inspired by autumn’s beautiful display of warm coloured leaves, and the process of deciduous trees shedding their leaves for the winter. In Canada, where I live, the leaves’ colours are vibrant during fall, its really a sight to behold. (That last part is also why I decided to put the CN Tower in the background, setting the scene haha)”

“Tree” by z3ming, RPF Second in Command

“I made this for the fall art column last year, back then I would make a pixel art for every art column theme. This one was my favourite of them all, so I wanted to resubmit it for this year’s fall art column.”

“Origami Flower” by Jaeun, RPF Third in Command

“back in middle school i used to do a lot of origami! i’d give paper flowers to random people, fill up jars with paper stars, etc. so when i saw rpfacfall i was like ‘time to revisit my childhood’ im surprised i even still remember how to make them but really all you need is colored paper and glue LOL i like this type of origami flower the best (it’s called kusudama, i think?) because it has 5 pieces + you can add a stem and turn it into a bouquet if you’d like”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week is… Friends & Family! Since next week is the American Holiday of Thanksgiving, we decided to make this more broad to include everyone! Make sure to put #rpfacafriends&family in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
