Art Column 5/21/26

Welcome to the 71st edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Art, Citrus, Ella, Miggy, Moonlemur, Matt, Thomas, and Meg) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind, due to so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognised in each edition. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our monthly gallery and keep creating!

Theme Art

In this segment, we will be displaying art from the topic released in the last issue! We aim to challenge our artists with these themes and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in the #art channel with the hashtag we include at the end of this post for a chance to be featured!

This month’s theme was: Anniversary

nineteen, an RPF acrostic”
Recently, within RPF and the broader RF community, I’ve been feeling this sense of home, of kinship and a third space. Now, as i tried to find something to submit to the Art Column during my second RPF anniversary celebration, I wanted to share a taste of this thing I had been feeling. This is the product—a structured poem that’s a bit like an acrostic and a bit like a spoken word. I could have typed it, but wanted to bring another layer of heartfelt authenticity to the project by handwriting it as one might hand write a thank you note for a gift. This community has been a gift to me and I’m grateful to be here

“a slice of RPF”
“To celebrate RPF’s 19th, i wanted to put a spotlight on the beautiful rank colors in our server!”

“RPF’s 19th Celebration Party”
“it celebrates our community and our history! I wanted something I felt like I could share, and for me that was the coffee shop. Personally it’s one of my favorite places to chill out in cpj, and ive gotten quite a few new friends into rpf from there, so for me it was such an easy pick! A couple popular Club Penguin tactic emotes are hidden around aswell, as whats an rpf event without some tactics!”

Title: Delicious Rivalry
For a quote: I wanted to use one of my favorite things about the RPF as a motif for the cake since it’s an anniversary project, and while making it I realized that the playful rivalry between the Army and Navy was something I really enjoy. I think that sort of competitiveness should be celebrated, and what better way to celebrate than with an explosive cake?

Next month’s Theme of the Month will be…Pride! As it’s coming to the end of May and the next month is June! That means it’s time to get our pride spirts on 😎 Make sure to put #rpfacpride in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured in the next edition! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!
