Art Column – 6/30/21

Welcome to the thirty-second edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Yvng, Eskild, Ash, and Cracked) see and critique pieces in the #art channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.

By definition, “art” can be best described as…

“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind due so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized each week. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our weekly gallery and keep creating!

Featured Artist

By Crow, RPF Colonel

It was an art project from school I needed to do its just a funky colour cow it was inspired by the fauvism and expressionist periods and movements. I used a canvas paper, oil paint and various brushes, and it took about 5hrs30m so around 5 and a half hours. It looks funky in the sense that there are multiple colours you wouldn’t usually find on a cow because it was intended to have unusual, unique colours

Club Penguin & RPF Art

Being the Rebel Penguin Federation, we have to include art related to us in this post of course! Here are some Club Penguin & RPF related art made by our fellow troops!

“The Power of a Tactic” by EmpressKatie, RPF Colonel

“I knew I really wanted to make something along these lines for ages, something showing how big we really are as a community, and ET toots has always amused me, I love seeing it done as a tactic. So I implemented the two into a comic… with consequences lol”
“RPF Penguin Stuffie” by jjsnowflake, RPF Colonel

”I had been wanting to sew another stuffed toy for a while even before the rpf fan art contest. (this is my 2nd time hand-sewing a stuffed toy from scratch without a template, my first one was a teddy bear named snuggles) So when RPF fan art contest was announced, at first i was gonna do an animation or a picrew or smtg but then the urge to sew another stuffed toy was calling me so here we have it, a week of sleeping at sunrise later, an RPF penguin stuffed toy 😛 Completely hand-sewn, all clothing item removable so you can dress the penguin like in the game.”

“Seaside Song” by Master DS, RPF Colonel

“I love the concerts that Lanie seldom does in the RPF, so I wanted to do something showing my appreciation for her talent. This drawing is a representation of what I feel every time I listen to Lanie’s singing.”

Theme of the Week

In this segment, we will be announcing a different topic every week to challenge our artists and see what they come up with. If you would like to participate, post your art in #art with the hashtag we include here for a chance to be featured!
This week’s Theme of the Week was Landscapes

“Mountains:fingerguns:” by princhi, RPF General

“When I saw the theme, I immediately thought ‘ooh nature’ and wanted to share some photographs I’ve taken over the years. It was hard choosing one; I ultimately picked this one because not only is it just an incredible sight, but it also brings back lots of fun memories from a ski trip with my friends :’)”

By Anya, RPF Brigadier General

“There’s this beach back at my hometown that we’d always visit whenever we went back, and this pic was taken during one of those trips. We like to go in the evenings bc its cooler and has a beautiful sunset view<3 Coincidentally that day someone was playing a kite right in front of us and thats how the picture was born :relieved:
By Guinz, RPF Major General

“Since the theme was landscape, I recalled taking this picture a while back in 2019 during one of my travels before Covid hit :frowning: Living in a city, my family had decided to visit the Blue Mountains for a change of scenery and I was lucky enough that it was such a clear day when I took this picture!”
“The Pond That Isn’t” by Jos, RPF Sergeant

“So there’s this drained lake near where I live, and it’s a great spot to sit down and think. Really, it’s THE spot :)”

Thank you to everyone who submitted art!

Next week’s Theme of the Week is… Pride! In light of an amazing month celebrating LGBTQ+ communities, we want you to think of this in terms of a picture, drawing, music or any other creative form of art! Make sure to put #rpfacpride in the caption when you post your work if you would like to be featured here next week! Don’t forget: art includes drawings, music, photography, paintings, and more!

All art presented was given permission by their creators to be included in this post. Never steal or take credit for another person’s work!

Thanks for reading!
