Welcome to the 72nd edition of the Art Column, where our reporters (currently Art, Citrus, Ella, Miggy, Moonlemur, Thomas, Matt, and Marcasite Meg) see and critique pieces in the #art-channel and choose which to feature from members of the Rebel Penguin Federation.
By definition, “art” can be best described as…
“…the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”
Due to this, the Art Column’s purpose is to promote all types of art. This includes whether it’s digital or physical, something you can hear or something you can see, and even if it’s RPF related or not. However, please do also keep in mind, due to so many members in our group, not everyone will get recognized in each edition. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our monthly gallery and keep creating!

“my mom loves highland cows and I saw the cow print fabric at the fabric store and knew I wanted to make something from it for her! We have a quilt we use that was made for us by a family friend but it’s starting to fall apart so I figured I could make her a new one! This is my first time ever making a quilt and honestly I didn’t even have a pattern I just looked at the old one and went based off of that! Anyways her birthday is this week, so I get to give it to her soon!”

“I’ve had this vintage pingu Keychain (that i use more like a bagcharm) for a couple of years now, i luckily found it in a thrift store here in chile (bcs is so expensive to get merch from abroad) and i grew a maternal attachment to it bcs i used to watch pingu on youtube as a child lol (is soo cute). But it kept bugging me that i saw new merch of pingu in asia almost everyday. So the solución was actually easy, i used some felt that i had at home bcs of school and i started this hat completly inspired in one of those newer merch, even better, this way i dont overconsume and it can be whatever i want, to be even cuter im planing to make more hats that combine with my different bags and outfits.”
