Welcome back to RPF’s Behind the Signature Items column! 3 of our very own Rebels were more than willing to show off their style or showcase their spin on our classic uniform, which consists of items like the Black Hoodie and the iconic Dark Vision Goggles.
In this edition of the column, we’ve interviewed Lieutenant Shan, Major Nelly, and Colonel Plum!

Shan
First, we have Shan (also known as Peacherys), our current Troop of the Week! Shan wears the Leopard Print Scarf and says that it’s a bit like one she owns in real life. She also says she thinks it works with the uniform, even though it’s bright. Shan also wears the colorful Swirly Glasses, one of her favorite items on CPJ! For hair, she wears The Wistful because it’s what her hair used to look like, and she also says, “…it kind of reminds me of me.”

Nelly
Next up is Nelly! She rocks the iconic White Diva Sunglasses, and she says that she “YEARNED for these as a kid but could never get them,” and she remembers the joy she felt when her puffle finally found them! Of course, they’ve become a staple in her outfits. The Fuzzy Boots Nelly wears are similar to her favorite boots in real life, so naturally, she became attached to them! Nelly also wears the Leopard Print Scarf because cheetah print is her favorite pattern. Finally, she holds onto the Penguin Gaming System (or in our world, the Nintendo DS) because it’s cute, and because she still uses her 3DS to this day!

Plum
Lastly, we have Plum! His first signature item goes back to when he was first in RPF— the Clown Hair! It’s only available on CPAB at the moment, but Plum says, “I chose it because rainbow = gay, and clown = wacky bonkers, and I think that sums me up!” He also enjoys the Black Checkered Shoes, which can be a part of our uniform sometimes, but Plum thinks they’re neat regardless. On CPJ, Plum also wears a clown wig, but this time, it’s The Clown-Around! Featured in CPJ’s One Million Penguins Style catalog in July 2026, it just so happens to have RPF’s signature colors, so Plum considers it even better than the Clown Hair. He’ll also have the Left-Handed Cane on him sometimes, since he has a real-life ankle weakness that he makes his “silly penguin” suffer with too. For Pins, he has a UFO on CPAB because of his love for sci-fi, and a Pride Pin on CPJ. Plum will also choose a background for his player card that fits the theme of whatever event we’re doing!
