Now, let’s start!

First, head over to the EPF Command Room and go to the Field-Ops computer. Once opened, click Accept Field-Op to accept the mission.

Looks like we need to go to the Plaza to place alarm traps for the island’s security! Head on over there as soon as possible and go to the left side of the large crate.

You’ll know you’re in the right spot when your EPF phone starts to shake and the top bar turns green!

Click on your EPF phone to launch the Tune the Radio Scanner! mini-game.

In the instructions, it tells you to match the scanner line using the spacebar key to the correct frequency number. You have to stop the line at the exact point, or else it doesn’t count. If you stop on a number and it lights up as green, then it’s the right number. If you stop on a number and it lights up as red, then it’s the wrong number and you lose some of your battery life.

You can make 3 mistakes before you fail the mission.

Click Engage to begin.

You’ll start off with a circle with a clockwise rotating scanner line in the middle. The number in the blue rectangle in the bottom left corner is the number you currently need to match the scanner to before you move on to the next, ultimately until you complete the mission. The green bar at the bottom is your battery life. If it runs out, you failed the mission and have to start over. The empty bar above the green bar is your progress. You will complete the mission when it’s full.

To match the numbers, click the spacebar button on your keyboard.

As you progress, a new circle will automatically come on the screen when you match the last. With that, the scanner line can move faster, can also go counter-clockwise in the opposite direction, can move back and forth, and numbers might disappear from the sides of the circle to throw you off.

After successfully matching all of the numbers to the scanner and filling up the progress bar, you will receive 25 EPF medals! You can spend these on various Elite Gear.

Tips & Tricks

  • Know your angles! This game is based on knowing your angles. This helps when needing to know which line to match up to when the number either disappears or isn’t there.

  • Take your time! Don’t rush to match the scanner line to the correct number right away, as you might mess up. I recommend making sure you know where the correct number first, get used to the way the scanner line moves, then make your move! Always good to prepare ahead.

  • Don’t stress out! With this being a difficult minigame, people tend to stress out easily not being able to finish this on the first try, or even after the millionth try. Just keep trying your best and you’re sure to get it right! The more you stress, the more mistakes you might make in the game.

Best of luck!
