It’s Been Litty~

After experiencing so many retirements of those who came before me, it’s finally my turn. When people retire, it’s either because they’ve consciously decided to leave for whatever reason, or they fall inactive due to life circumstances until they realize after a while that they can no longer fulfill their duties as staff. I would say that I fall into this second category. As you all know I’ve been inactive for some time, so my retirement may not come as a surprise. If I had endless time and could do it all, I would, but life has completely changed for me where I could no longer fit RPF into it even when I tried. But of course, it’s not easy to leave behind a community I was part of for 4+ years. So this post will include final words, some of my proudest accomplishments during my time here, and a reflection of my entire journey – well, as much as I can remember (because so much has happened!)

First I want to mention what this community has given me. RPF gave me a space to grow in a lot of ways, and I would even say that it shaped a lot of who I am today. This community helped me feel important and valued when I needed it most. It gave me things to work towards and gave me a sense of achievement at a time in my life when I was feeling lost and unconfident. I have had some of the most wholesome and insightful conversations I’ve ever had with people in this server, and I’ve learned a lot; a lot about friendship, life, leadership… and I’ve also met some of the most genuine, motivated, and creative people I’ve ever known.

How It Started

So how did it all start for me? Flashback to November 28, 2021, I remember feeling bored and alone, deciding how I should spend the rest of my day. I randomly remembered Club Penguin as a game I used to play, and out of curiosity decided to look up whether it still existed. I was brought to a Reddit post comparing two CPPS sites at the time (one of them was CPRewritten), and in the comments someone mentioned how they played “with a group of friends every day”, along with a link leading me to the RPF Discord. I was intrigued and clicked it.

As soon as I got past the welcome channel and entered main chat, everyone was hyping about some “event” in 30 minutes, telling me I should join. I had no idea what an “event” was, but it sounded fun and I had nothing better to do. So I attended my first event, Operation: Beacon of Light, only half an hour after I had joined the server. I didn’t even have an account yet, but I made one quickly and grabbed the free Lighthouse costume. At the time CPR’s Festival of Lights party was going on, and since it was my first time back on Club Penguin for years, it was super nostalgic – especially because the island was decorated so beautifully. When I think back at this time, the nostalgia still hits me. I also thought it was hilarious how there were other random penguins coming into the room just as confused as I was about what was happening. To be honest, the silliness of it is what made me want to come back and do it again the next time (and the next time, and the next time…)

Not me in the center of my first ever event?!?! LOL

Two weeks later, I felt like I’d had my fun and was starting to lose interest. But to my surprise, I was suddenly awarded with Troop of the Week #225 on December 10th, 2021. I couldn’t believe I was recognized in that way, when all I had been doing was just having fun. It really did mean a lot to me, and made me think to myself, “well I can’t leave now!”

TOTW speech & trophy 🩷

Shortly after, Sharki interviewed me as one of the recent TOTWs, and it felt pretty special because it was my first ever RPF interview. One question she asked that I wasn’t expecting, however, was what goals or ranks I hoped to achieve in RPF. It was something I hadn’t thought about much until that moment, but my answer ended up being that I would like to have a wall of server roles to show on my profile similar to others I had seen, and that I wanted to reach the highest troop ranking. (Spoiler alert: I achieved both of those and more!)

Many “Firsts” For Me

Meanwhile that same month, RPF was participating in the Christmas Chaos XI Tournament, and it quickly became one of my favorite memories. There’s just something about your first tournament that doesn’t compare to any other that comes after. I remember all the hype around it, and at those battles were the most penguins I had ever seen on screen. Since I was still new, it was also the fastest I had ever copied and pasted tactics, and I remember the adrenaline I felt and my hands being shaky afterwards. I even remember being really nervous waiting for the results… but in true RPF fashion, we ended up winning the Finals!!

At the end of December 2021, just a month after I had joined RPF, I won RNM’s Event Contest for my event titled Operation: Ringing  in the New Year. The event was hosted on the 1st of January 2022, and as the contest winner I got to lead the last 5 minutes of the event for my first time ever!! I was nervous for sure, but I came prepared with tactics and transitions, and everyone was so kind and supportive! Looking back on the messages, I can’t believe I even did a firework.

Five days later, the Shrek-themed Winter Olympics were announced, and thus I was placed on my first Olympics team: Team Orcus. In complete honesty my team felt smaller and less active than the others, but I tried to look at the positive side: it meant that I was able to help make more of an impact. So I did what I could for the team through hyping and attending, and I was so so happy when I was awarded Team MVP at the end of the week.

During that week, I also got closer with many of the staff members, partly because my team was pretty small, and partly because I was super active that week. At this point, as I mentioned above, my only goal was to reach Colonel, the highest troop rank. I had never even thought of joining staff, actually I didn’t even know it was a possibility, until some of them started asking me if I was going to apply for Cadet the following week. My response? “What’s Cadet?” I had no idea what it was at the time, but they told me about it, which gave me a lot to think about. But because the staff had been so encouraging, I decided to go for it. The following week on January 24, 2022, I applied for and was promoted to Cadet, followed shortly by my Officer promotion three weeks later!

On March 27th, 2022, I got my very first message pin in main chat. RPF had just introduced its recruiting battalions (shoutout #penguin-regiment!), and of course as a staff member, it was my duty to explain it properly to the people. So in response to “wtf is a recruiting battle lion”, please see my response below:

I couldn’t have been more proud of my very first pin (thank you yvng!)

In May 2022, I celebrated RPF’s Anniversary for the first time, and this time RPF was turning 15 years old. As part of the Anniversary Bingo, I designed an igloo for the occasion, and it became something I was extremely proud of. I created a dance floor in the shape of the Rebel guitar, arranged balloons into the shape of “15”, and ensured everything matched the color theme.

HCOM Promotion

Later that year on November 7th, I was honored and surprised to find myself promoted to HCOM within a year of joining RPF.

The lovely Ella interviewed me shortly after the promotion, and I’m so amused reading back on it to see mentions of beansock and pineapple pizza. I’m ashamed to say that I did not in fact implement more beansock into the server during my time in leadership 😔

Contest Entries I’m Proud Of

In November of 2022, another contest came around, this time with the objective to design a role to be added to the rebel cash shop. I was inspired by Rebel Bot and felt I was pretty clever with my submission:

The cost of the role would be 123831 to loosely spell out “REBEL”, and the hex would be taken directly from Rebel Bot herself. My role idea won and was available in the shop until the end of 2024, when the shop and economy were revamped.

In March of 2023, I hosted the very first Codenames breakday between the branches after my idea had won the Contest Team’s Breakday Contest. I continued to host them every now and then, especially during server parties, until it was slowly adopted into the regular breakday cycle and hosted by others. It’s awesome to see it still used for breakdays, and needless to say, it’s something I’m proud of.

In August of 2024, I won second place in RNM’s Emote Contest with the :branchlove: emote I designed! 💙❤️ I was inspired by Club Penguin’s Doodle Dimension during the April Fools Party, and wanted to incorporate it with the idea of the different branches in our server. This emote is still available to use in the server! <3

Fall 2024: The Hangout

Fall of 2024 was probably the highlight of my time in RPF. It was the most exciting and I was the most active during that period out of my entire 4 years. This was the time of the Autumn Tundra Clash War, which I assisted heavily during as HCOM. I believe it was the longest war I participated in during my time in RPF, having been declared in mid-September and concluding near the end of October with a total of 44 battles (which RPF won every single one of!) It is also one of the most memorable events, if not the most memorable event, during my entire time in RPF.

This followed shortly after my promotion to Second in Command on September 2nd, 2024, which was followed a little over a month later by my Rebel Hall of Fame induction on October 27th – right after the conclusion of the war. As I mentioned above, this season turned out to be my favorite period during my time in RPF, so I couldn’t have been more honored to receive these recognitions during it.

Promotion to Second in Command

Hall of Fame: Rebel Induction

As if I couldn’t feel more honored, Patro (who was a General at the time) reached out to interview me for the Troop Interviews column following my HOF induction, alongside interviews of our two Rebel Commanders. This ended up being my favorite RPF interview I had ever done, because it was a culmination of everything I had learned from RPF in terms of mindset and leadership up until that point, 3 years into my rebel career. I’m really thankful for Patro’s insightful questions highlighting aspects of my time here that I’m proud to read back on.

Finally, my year ended by being nominated for Best HCOM in the CPA Winter Awards and placing second. Just being nominated was super validating for me, so placing second was more than I could ask for, especially when I’ve never been involved in CPA outside of RPF.

A Special Shoutout to z3ming

I want to give a special shoutout to z3, who was the first one to make an impact on me early on during my time in RPF. I remember having been in the server for 2 weeks, and up until this point I had simply been exploring the server and attending events and breakdays on my own. It wasn’t until a couple days later that I had my first actual conversation with someone in the server, when z3ming and I bonded over a common interest in Gravity Falls. It actually came up because I was submitting my answers for the Tuxedo Times puzzle of the week! I truly believe this interaction made me stick around longer than I would have otherwise.

z3 would go on to be my mentor for the entirety of my Officer career, which lasted for about 9 months. His encouragement, and the fact that I wanted to make him proud, is what essentially kept me going until I reached HCOM.

At the time, z3 was also co-leader of the Tuxedo Times team alongside Princhi, and by his invitation, I joined the team on February 27th, 2022 as a Brig Gen. It didn’t feel like a big deal at the time, but this would later prove to be a really important milestone in my RPF journey.

On November 26, 2022 shortly after my HCOM promotion, z3 and princhi selected me to be the new puzzle master for the Tuxedo Times issues. I was super honored for the opportunity, and had a lot of fun creating puzzles weekly. Here are some of the ones that I was most proud of:

Pride Month iSpy created for Issue #164

Cozy Cabin word unscrambler from Issue #145

Emoji-decoding puzzle for RPF’s 16th Birthday – from Issue #158

Easter Egg Hunt puzzle created for Issue #155

Mother’s Day puzzle featuring a remix I created of the :penguinfriends: emote in the server – from Issue #160

Father’s Day Maze from Issue #165

Christmas iSpy created for Issue #140

In total, I created 36 weekly puzzles for Issues 137-172, before Princhi announced her retirement on August 8, 2023 and I was asked to co-lead the team with z3. However, it wasn’t for long as he announced his retirement one month later, entrusting the team in my hands. I was pretty crushed at their retirements, because they were both a huge part of my RPF experience up until that point. But with both of them gone and the Tuxedo Times team now in my hands, I felt a duty to make them proud, and it became my motivation for staying in RPF. I solo-led the team for 2 years from September 2023 to October 2025, and during that time I was able to make a lot of changes and improvements within the team. I’m super proud of what I accomplished, but I won’t deny that leading the team solo for that long eventually caused burn out. In October 2025, I finally appointed Buhnny as my co-lead to help continue the legacy once she had settled into her HCOM role.

I want to end this section by saying that z3 was a large part of why I stayed in the beginning, stuck it out in the middle, and found a reason to continue after he was gone. Perhaps he was just being himself, but he seemed to understand that the reason people join RPF, and the reason they stay, is to find some sort of connection and/or purpose. So thank you, z3, for helping me find that here.

Leading Tuxedo Times

There is a lot more that I accomplished as an HCOM over the years that I’m proud of, but I won’t mention them all in this post due to many of them being more behind-the-scenes staff/HCOM duties. But one thing I do want to share here is my experiences and accomplishments while leading the Tuxedo Times team.

First, I have to give a shoutout to Mads, who passionately asked me questions about the team, listened to my passionate replies, and then approached me to allow her to help bring back the puzzles, which had been discontinued when I was appointed team leader. After 35 issues without them, weekly puzzles were brought back with Issue #207. Not only that, but she helped me introduce the seasonal role system for completing the puzzles, which all of you still enjoy today. I don’t think there was anybody else that would have fit the position better, and Mads brought a new level to the puzzles that hadn’t been seen in Tuxedo Times before. Thank you, Puzzle Queen, for all of your hard work, great ideas, and amazing inspiration.

A couple weeks later after puzzles were re-introduced, Lemur reached out to me to help bring comics back as well. He made a themed comic for RPF’s 17th Anniversary, and with the release of Issue #211, just one month after we brought back the puzzles, we re-introduced the comics after 50 issues without them! Thank you to Lemur for kickstarting the comeback of comics, and for being the first of many comic artists we have had since then: Ohasa, Nick, Lehky, Miggy, Iaruu, Ihasparkelz, & Kipbip.

Next, I want to give a shoutout to Buhnny and Patro, who took over writing for 6 issues during my leave at the end of 2024. Their work ethic, initiative, and teamwork together were so amazing, and I was inspired just working with them. During this time, they suggested changes and came up with new ideas on the way that the news section was written, including the addition of headlines. It was such a nice change of pace after I had been doing things the same old way for so long. When I came back from my leave, I decided to let them continue writing the news portion of the issues, thus changing the structure of the team for the better. This responsibility had previously fallen on the team leader, but took a lot of weight off my shoulders and was a great opportunity to mentor potential future leaders for the team. At the time, I could see either of them going on to lead the team in the future, so I’m really grateful that Buhnny stuck around, eventually made it to HCOM, and is now the new successor of the Tuxedo Times legacy.

“Aunt Litty’s Puffles” made by Patro

Buhnny, you are literally a blessing to work with, and an amazing leader and writer. I can’t imagine handing this team to anyone else! And Patro, I’ve mentioned this before but during your time as staff you brought so much motivation and drive back to me that I felt like I had lost over time. Thank you both for the impact you had on me!

In this next section, I briefly want to highlight some of my favorite / most meaningful Tuxedo Times issues below:

  • Issue #200 was my proudest issue I wrote, because it was a Special Edition featuring a closer look at the history of Tuxedo Times. I remember doing a lot of research and backsearching around the site and server for it, and worked on it for nearly a day straight. But I was so pleased with the outcome!

  • Issue #98 was the first issue I was on the team.
  • Issue #137 included my very first puzzle as the new Tuxedo Times puzzle master. In this issue I created a word search themed around Christmas Chaos XII.
  • Issue #164 was the first time I introduced a new type of puzzle, Spot the Differences, which had never been seen in Tuxedo Times issues before.
  • Issue #174 was the very first issue I ever wrote and released as a team lead.
  • Issue #178 was the first issue I wrote as a SOLO team lead, in which I sadly announced z3’s retirement.
  • Issue #207 is when we brought back the puzzles, thanks to Mads!
  • Issue #209 was the first issue Mads and I introduced the new seasonal puzzle role system, with the very first role being Springtime Solver.
  • Issue #211 is when we brought comics back, thanks to Lemur!
  • Issue #230 featured hilarious “War Meme Edition” puzzles themed around the Autumn Tundra Clash War, as we had just announced the declaration of the war. I found these puzzles hilarious and commend Mads for coming up with them.
  • Issue #237 was the first issue Patro and Buhnny wrote for me during my leave, and the first issue I started to relinquish control; they brought the introduction of headlines, fresh writing styles, and were able to break out of the mold I felt like I had been in because I kept on doing things the same way as they were always done.
  • Issue #244 was an issue that I loved because it was a super cute Christmas edition. It included our CCXIV trophy, a Christmas-themed puzzle and comic, and I made a whole edit of the header graphics to make it festive!

  • Issue #245 featured an end-of-year wrap-up By The Numbers section for 2024, which ended up being the longest and most detailed BTN section I had ever written. It really got me reflecting on all the amazing things we had accomplished that year.

Prior to my leadership of the team, Princhi and z3ming had both tied for most issues posted, having posted 55 issues each by the time they retired. Today is my turn to retire, and I’m amazed to say that I edited and released a total of 87 issues during my time leading Tuxedo Times!!

A Shoutout to a Long-Time Friend

I want to give a shoutout to Shpec, who was my 2nd ever recruit and the only one to stick around in the community for this long. I recruited him only 3.5 weeks after I joined the server myself, so he’s been around just as long as I have, and we’d been friends ever since. In the early days we had talked about being staff in RPF together, but ultimately he chose the judging route. Still, it was fun to congratulate each other on our accomplishments and grow alongside each other in the community over the years. Shpec, I’m proud of how far you’ve come, and it’s been amazing to see you work your way up to Head Judge and everything that came before. Thank you for being my longest-standing friend from this community, and of course, thank you for introducing beansock to RPF!

We’ve had the best of times, we’ve had the beanst of times, but one thing’s for sure: Recruiting you was totally worth getting both of our mains banned!! 😊

Some Visuals

Whether they have come and gone or are still here, there were so many people that added to my RPF experience. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to list out everyone who was part of my journey, but I want to give a general shoutout to my fellow troops, staff, and HCOM who I had the chance to cross paths with over the years. And instead of more paragraphs, I will use this space to show off some of my favorite creations that others have made for me:

Thank you to everyone who was a part of my journey here. I learned a lot, grew a lot, and I’m thankful for what I was able to take from this experience. I think I’ve come really far, and I’m happy with the influence and impact I’ve made and what I’m leaving behind. What began as something I had intended to be a bit of fun for just a couple weeks, turned into a years-long adventure.

Thank you, RPF, for letting me “stop by” for a quick 4 years ;D I love you!

Thank you so much Art for the tactic 💕
