TROOP INTERVIEWS – CHEESED3V, YVNG BALLER, CRACKED, AND MOON

This week marks the seventy-ninth official edition of “Troop Interviews”, where a team of interviewers (currently Yvng, Cracked, Guinz, Emerald, Alienn and Sharki) ask two or more people questions. Interviews won’t have the same questions; each interview’s purpose is to show originality and have its unique highlights. Along with that, the questions asked give us a better understanding of each member and how different or similar everyone is in the community. There’s an exponential amount of members here in the Rebel Penguin Federation, so it will be difficult to get to everyone who requests an interview. The Rebel Broadcast Team graciously appreciates the patience you all have and hope to see you guys in a post one day!

The four interviewees for this week are Cheesed3v, Yvng Baller, Cracked, and Moon.

Cheesed3v

Hey there! I’m Alienn and will be your host for today’s Troop Interviews. I’ll be guiding you through all the interviews that our team conducted. Firstly, Guinz interviewed our recent Troop of the Week, Cheesed3v. Let’s hear their thoughts on the news!

What’s your favourite thing about RPF?

Cheesed3v: the events are super creative and inclusive, not to mention the hard work in each of them!

Guinz: You seem to really like events!

Have you gotten yourself the planner role? And if you could lead your own event, how would you create it?
Cheesed3v: nope not yet Im very broke right now 😅 If I could lead my own event, I would decide on the theme and outfit, make a list of tactics and forms, and be sure to listen to suggestions
Guinz: Oh, don’t worry I’m sure you’ll be rich enough soon when you attend events

How does it feel to have been troop of the week?
Cheesed3v: it feels great! the people in chat are very nice and congratulated me 😄
Guinz: That’s nice!! I guess it’s kinda an RPF culture where people are really nice and friendly

Why do you think you earned troop of the week?
Cheesed3v: i’ve been more active in chats and attending events often because of thanksgiving week break

Do you have any advice for troops aspiring to be the next troop of the week?
Cheesed3v: aim to make rpf better (its already very good) and go to events when you can!
Guinz: Nice advice!! We’d definitely love to see troops trying to make RPF better

Now that you’ve earned totw, what goals/ranks do you hope to achieve in RPF?
Cheesed3v: 😄 totw gave me some confidence so i’ll be sure to get my timezones right and be as active as I can!
Guinz: Awww that’s nice!!!

Any last words you have before we wrap this up?
Cheesed3v: enjoy the winter season and stay safe 🙂
Guinz: Stay safe too 🤗

Cracked and Yvng Baller

Next, Sharki interviewed RPF’s newest addition to their HCOM – 3ICs Yvng Baller and Cracked. Let’s see how they feel about the promotion and any advice they have from troops aspiring to be HCOM!

Sharki: okay hi guys thank you for letting me interview yall today !!! let’s begin this interview by asking how y’all are
Yvng: i am doing lovely on this fine saturday morning hbu miss sharki
Cracked: im feeling good today 😌 wbu
Sharki: i’m doing alright guys thank for asking okay so my first question for you both is:

How does it feel to have become a part of the HCOM?
Yvng: it feels great! i was an officer for about 10 months so i thought i would of never became HCOM until it finally happened the other day. I also retired back in August so i wasnt expecting it to get 3ic after a month of rejoining. At first I was a bit overwhelmed with the new responsibilities that came with being HCOM and overall i didnt really know what i was supposed to do, but after the first day i got used to my new position and it feels amazing. I love being able to overall help out and plan more for this server i call a second home
Sharki: aww very nice yvng, you definitely put a lot of time into rpf ever since you became staff so it was definitely well deserved
Yvng: thank you fun fact viewers me and sharki actually got promoted to staff together
Sharki: it’s true
Cracked: It was shocking at first for sure. I mean, when you’ve been General for a while you kinda start to realize that you’ll get HCOM eventually, you are just not entirely sure of when that will happen.
It feels great to take on a bigger leadership role and work on even more stuff behind the scenes, but it also feels confusing at times due to the new responsibilities and tasks that need to be taken care of, especially during the first few days. You learn new things every day tho, so it’s also fun to explore everything you can do that you couldn’t do as an Officer.
Yvng: 10/05/20 for doot and 10/19/20 for mod 😤
Sharki: yea hcom definitely seems overwhelming as you gain way more responsibility but ur doing great (ig) i kept telling you you were gonna get it so glad to see you did 🤬
Cracked: 😡 ty for the support!! (ig)

Did you ever think you’d reach HCOM status and if not, what was your original goal?
Cracked: I never even thought I’d get to Scout Medic (back when it was a thing RIP) let alone HCOM, but as time went on I just kept on attending events, being active, and eventually helping out as an Officer, and here I am! I guess my goal has always been to just vibe and have fun, as promos have never been my main focus, even though its ofc nice to get one after putting in hard work consistently
Sharki: scout medic was definitely the rank everyone wanted to get and i’m glad that you kept ranking up because ur a valuable addition to our staff team and a nice face to see in rpf i general.
Yvng: Honestly when i first joined RPF i never saw myself achieving HCOM, i thought i was just gonna be a troop forever. As time went on, i wanted to do more for RPF so i made myself a little plan and make a new goal along the way, so first before i applied for Cadet, the rule was i had to get TOTW first which i ended up getting the honor and then i applied for Cadet. After Cadet, i wanted to become an officer so i made that my goal and eventually reached it. After that my goal was to just rank up and see where this takes me until i reached General. At first i didnt want HCOM due to uni coming up for me and stuffs, but eventually i decided to go for it since i was able to adjust to uni nicely i think. Now i am just chillin at 3ic waiting for what is gonna happen next
Sharki: glad you continued ranking up you did really well as an officer and your transition was pretty flawless it seems like you have been hcom for ages !!!!!

What advice would you give to troops who want to be HCOM someday?
Yvng: The advice i would give to troops who want to become HCOM someday is definitely PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE for sure. When you get to Officer it takes a lot of patience when ranking up since its not like when you are a troop and you can get promoted every week. It may take a bit to get promoted so just as long as you put in the work by attending events, being active, recruiting, doing your Officer Duties, and overall contributing to RPF, you will eventually rank up and get to HCOM :blackflames:
Sharki: yea for sure it’s not easy to rank up and it takes multiple months so don’t give up!! As long as you are having fun and doing your job right you will rank up eventually
Cracked: Remember to have fun and enjoy what you are doing! Promos are always nice, but they are meaningless if you don’t enjoy yourself. Try your best, but also take it easy and take breaks whenever you need to. As long as you do your part consistently, I’m sure you’ll get there at some point There’s definitely no rush and the journey to HCOM is honestly quite fun. If I got here, anyone can 😌
Sharki: promos are def real nice when you know you have worked hard for them 😌 sometimes the journey is better than the destination 😏😏

What do you think is the most important responsibility of being an HCOM?
Yvng: After getting HCOM i dont think there is just ONE important responsibility of being HCOM. There is a lot of stuff behind the scenes that we do to make RPF running smoothly and enjoyable for everyone! We gotta plan events, plan special things (Like cyber monday for example), have to do seasonal roles, decide on TOTW, decide who gets a promo for the week during promo talk, working on how certain events are gonna work, lead during events, work on RNM Team stuff etc. theres just a lot to go into it and i think they are all equally important
Sharki: yea for sure, your responsibilities have been upped a lot and they are all really important
Cracked: I’d say it has to be setting a good example. When you are HCOM, others tend to look up to you, so it’s important that you do your part whether it’s with recruiting, attending events, or just being a good presence in main chat. This usually encourages people to also be more active in general and sometimes even help new people try their hand at recruiting as well 😳 All the staff duties can seem a bit daunting at first, but seeing others (esp HCOM) helping out and cheering you on, instead of just demanding stuff from you, that def goes a long way. Keeping a big server like this one running doesn’t just involve a handful of people, it takes an entire team- That’s why it’s important to keep the team active by encouraging them and leading by example. So yeah, I’d consider this the most important part, although there’s def many other tasks that come into play as well. 😤
Sharki: hell yea ur now leaders of rpf and what you do sets the example for all the younger generations to come, it’s important to encourage them cuz we want to see them rank up too!!!

What’s your favorite RPF memory?
Yvng: my fav RPF memory has to be Fright or Fight 2020 hype since it was very fun hyping for it. it was the semifinals and we were going against ACP in that round so me and brad started chanting CRUSH THOSE CLOVERS as hype throughout that day leading up to the battle. Eventually i changed my name to CRUSH THOSE CLOVERS as well and everyone else followed. it was just very fun and something i wont forget for a long time since it brought a lot of people together to just hype CRUSH THOSE CLOVERS in main
Sharki: hell yea i remember when everyone changed it, it was an awesome experience hyping during finals is always sm fun
Cracked: My favorite RPF memory has got to be the Olympics. It’s hard to choose 1, but I’d go for 2020 Winter Olympics 😌 It was just so fun, plenty of ppl showed up and there were so many memes abt it as well I love it sm. (WAKE UP TESA!!!) It was also my first time participating in Olympics as staff so that was super interesting as well. It feels like the longer you are in RPF the harder it is to choose your fav moment tbh, but if I had to choose 1 that’s what I’d go with 😌 ASTERION OWNS
Sharki: cracked were you in summer olympics
Cracked: yeah I was! As a very new troop but I was there for 2020 summer olympics 👶 All Olympics were sm fun so it’s hard to pick a favorite
Sharki: olympics are some fun with the memes i’m glad you liked them too asterion sux, thank you guys for letting me interview yall td…. and congrats on 3ic again!!!!

Moon

To round off this week’s interviews, Cracked interviewed the newly promoted Second in Command, Moon. Read on to see Moon reflect on her journey in RPF so far!

Cracked: Hey hey how’s it going?

Moon: hi LOL im good thank u wby 😳

Cracked: always nice to hear 😌 im not too bad myself!

How does it feel to be Second in Command again?

Moon: it feels good to know that i still have what it takes to earn a 2ic promotion, it’s very satisfying to achieve it again!

Cracked: Ofc! You’ve always been incredibly helpful for the team, and for such a long time as well!

How have your goals changed ever since you joined the server?

Moon: because my goal was to achieve staff when ranking up, once i got the promotion to brig gen i was satisfied. i remember texting lance that i wasnt even thinking about ranking up any further and that was it LOL. after getting a sense of what being staff is like and gaining some more self confidence, i changed my mind on wanting to achieve higher positions.

Cracked: That’s so nice I’m glad you kept ranking up because you def are a big help!

What would you say are 3 important traits a staff member needs to have?

Moon: only picking 3 is so hard 😭 id say good communication skills, confidence and reliability

Cracked: agreed! those are probably the most important qualities

How was the process of reentering the staff team after being away for a while?

Moon: one thing i learned by being in rpf for over 2 years is that people come and go all the time. what makes rpf enjoyable for me are the people, most of my friends from 2019 arent here anymore which means that making new friends had to happen if i wanted to stick around and enjoy it. even though i wasn’t part of staff for a while, i was still around in chat and attended events whenever we could use more people online. by doing that i was able to get to know newer troops and staff and stay in contact with the friends i already had. it allowed me to have a smoother comeback by already knowing who i was going to work with.

Cracked: thats sweet friends def make the experience a lot better!

Moon: yeah!! u cant be staff without communicating, so getting to know newer people beforehand even if just a little bit definitely helped 😌
Cracked: for sure 😌

What’s one thing about RPF that you would change?

Moon: i think that after attending so many club penguin events over a long period of time i don’t find them as amusing as i once did LOL. i wish it was easier to find different event types that still relate to club penguin, there’s only so much we can do in-game yk 👽
Cracked: i feel that, which is also why we appreciate event suggestions from troops, might I add. Some people are super creative and come up with stuff we wouldn’t think about
Moon: right!!

What’s your favorite type of event?
Moon: olympic game tournaments are the best
Cracked: ikr olympics season here in general is just top notch

What is one staff duty that you do best and one you want to get better at?
Moon: i really like recruiting, leading rbt with yoda and helping in decision making. what i dont like as much is doing anything math related like working out rc role prices and top ten related convos 😳

Cracked: tysm for letting me interview you! Any last words?
Moon: u suck docks also thats what she said and ty for interviewing me ig!! 🙄

That’s a wrap on our Troop Interviews! Thank you to everyone who read all the wonderful interviews, and I hope to see you all again next time!
