Vet Spotlight: Lauren

Have you ever seen someone with a purple name in chat and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, and this is the twenty-eight edition of the Vet Spotlight column, where we take you back in time to tell the story of our esteemed veterans! Today, we’re telling you the story of our veteran Lauren!

Prior to joining RPF, Lauren noted that her army experience first began between the years of 2009 and 2014, being a member of multiple armies as dual enlistment was encouraged back then. Noticeably, this included Global Defenders, ACP, Pirates, and Nachos!

Troop Experience

Lauren started playing CPPS’ again in 2025 and kept using the RPF guides for CPJ. After a few months, on July 17 2025, she decided to join the server to be nosey and see how modern day armies were despite having no intention of enlisting.

However, curiosity killed the cat as Lauren attended her first event to see how different events were just one day after joining. Here she attended a high school musical event and earned her first promotion to private.

It didn’t take Lauren long to jump right in with her rebel spirit, as she immediately helped RPF with the 2025 Legends Cup. From here she continued to attend events and support others, working her way up to major and earning Troop of The Week on August 29, 2025. Lauren remembers being shocked but happy with it being nice to be recognised.

Officer Experience

After reaching colonel, Lauren applied for officer cadet as it felt like a natural progression since she had been active and was having fun in the community anyway. Earning the rank of officer cadet on September 8th 2025!

Lauren recalls finding having new responsibilities as an officer cadet to be intimidating and taking time to adjust. But she noted that trying and improving was part of the role. Thankfully, her mentor, our second in command MiggyWaddles explained the responsibilities and supported Lauren through her journey. Lauren then achieved the role of brigadier general on September 29th 2025!

Lauren found that the main difference between being an officer cadet and a brigadier general was being more involved in conversations about how issues are handled and learning how different responsibilities come together. While she found it to be a bigger commitment she never felt like she was taking too much on. During her time as staff Lauren’s mentor was our second in command, Buhnny, who was a great mentor and helped to support Lauren through her concerns as an officer.

Lauren climbed through the ranks and reached Lieutenant General on January 5th 2026! She was not concerned about progressing through the ranks and wanted promotions to occur naturally. Lauren notes that climbing the ranks was less about learning new things but more about consistency and gaining confidence in her role as an officer.

While struggling to pick specific achievements as an officer due to an emphasis on teamwork, Lauren enjoyed doing guides and events for posts. As well as creating hype for 2025 Christmas Chaos which took her back to being a troop during pre-tournament hype for the 2025 Legends Cup.

Life as a veteran

Lauren’s retirement announcement made by our Rebel Commander, Link.

Lauren told us that being a veteran is bittersweet as she was sad to retire but ultimately made the decision as circumstances changed. When asked how being a veteran is different to being enlisted Lauren said that it’s the complete opposite as there is no commitment. But she likes being able to dip in and out of chat to speak to her friends and she hopes to still participate in tournaments and Olympics although there’s no obligation.

When asked about standout moments during her time in RPF, Lauren mentioned the 2025 Christmas Chaos win, the Party Planning Committee parties, RPF’s talent contest collab with the Rebel Music Division, and watching fellow officers be awarded for their hard work by earning HCOM.

That wraps up this edition of Vet Spotlight! A huge thank you to Lauren for the incredible amount of work you’ve put in to the RPF, and for allowing me the opportunity to interview you for this edition! And a thank you to all the readers that have made it this far down into the post! Keep rebelling!
