VET SPOTLIGHT: ULTIPENGUINJ

Ever seen those purple names in chat and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, and today marks the second edition of the new Vet Spotlight column – a column where Sharki, Yvng, and Alienn will take you through the story of some of RPF’s most famous Vets! Today, we are starting with one of RPF’s most well known vets and CPA Legend: Ultipenguinj.

Ulti, fully known as Ultipenguinj, is famously known as the 47th and 107th Rebel Commander who lead during Generation XVII, XXXII, and XXXIII

The story of Mistah Ulti begins almost 9 years ago in June of 2013 when an RPF Private who went by Keane8 invited him to join the army. Ulti was already familiar with armies as he was previously in a historic army called Nachos of Club Penguin.

During his time as a troop, Ulti had many friends who motivated him to keep ranking up in the army. These people included Azncutegurl7, Kwi3, LilStar, and Chondarei. He also credits the leaders of the time RPF Icon Snaily5, and RPF Legends Silverburg and Elmikey for helping him rank up as a troop.

While he was a troop, he participated in many tournaments including Christmas Chaos and Legends Cup. Back then RPF used to use a chat called Xat instead of Discord and in Xat, RPF would make another main chat specifically for these tournaments, and Ulti would love the atmosphere of them.

While he was a troop, he realized his friends were mods in RPF and he thought it would be cool if he could be at the same level as them in the future. So eventually he would reach mod in late 2013 and he loved being able to mute and ban people in Xat. Also fun fact, back then on Xat, the owners (aka HCOM) were able to snakeban someone and the only way to be unbanned was you had to win a game of Snake.

Ulti would get promoted to HCOM in late 2013 and would rise to 2ic in early 2014 through his dedication to the army. Eventually, he would reach Rebel Commander after Elmikey was coupled in February 2014. During his first time as HCOM, his main mentor was Snaily5 who was his close friend at the time and he modeled his leadership after her who created the RPF Ausia Division. As Rebel Commander, he wanted to be just like Snaily and be more open and welcoming to troops.

He would eventually retire for the first time in February 2015, about a year into his role as Rebel Commander (You can check out his retirement post here). He retired due to starting High School and stayed in RPF for a while as an Advisor. He would eventually step down as advisor as well to focus on school.

In June 2019, he would rejoin RPF taking the rank of Second in Command. Ulti would rejoin due to the tension that was going on in HCOM at the time and he wanted to be an open ear for troops or staff who did not feel like they could approach the current HCOM. After hearing complaints from friends who were in RPF at the time, he decided to rejoin to see if he could make a change.

As Second in Command, Ulti would start Strike Force and become the Director of it. Strike Force was open to troops from Specialist up and it was open so RPF can limit their sizes until the armies were more prepared to fight against them maxing 50-60+. Strike Force started because armies were starting to come back to Club Penguin Army Leagues and then Rebel Commander and RPF Icon Queenieliz and current RF Administrator and RPF Legend Twitchy543 reached out to Ulti and wanted to teach staff and troops how armies worked so RPF could return to having battles against armies.

A very popular RPF meme that came from Strike Force

Ulti would eventually be promoted quickly to Rebel Commander in August 2019, and would be at the rank up until May 2020 when he retired for the last time (You can check out his retirement post here! as well as the end of strike force post here!). When Ulti would gain Rebel Commander in August 2019, he was been planning his retirement from the moment he joined. Once the internal issues were solved Ulti planned on leaving and was going to retire in January 2020. But the world had other plans for him and Covid-19 would strike leading him to stick around in RPF for a bit more. He broke a few records during the time a very notable one was where RPF hit the record of the biggest max of an event at 178! (You can check out the post for that here!). In May of 2020, he would eventually retire and he felt he accomplished all his goals and everything he could do.

The announcement where stated he retired

Ulti would consider rejoining in an Advisor position if needed in the future to give his insight, but he wants to remain retired and end his RPF career for good. He feels he has accomplished everything that he had to do and that RPF is in good hands for the near future with the current troops and HCOM within.

After reflecting on his whole RPF career, Ulti took away that just because you are in charge, does not mean you are obligated to be respected. You have to earn this respect and the best way to do this is by communicating with everyone you work with on every level. Also to be transparent, understanding, and available with anyone that needs you because they will learn you can be trusted as both a friend and a leader.

And that’s the end of this Vet Spotlight with RPF Legend Ultipenguinj. He is a great example of someone that can rise and become a great leader of RPF. Special thank you to him for allowing us to tell his story and for being an amazing member of this community.

Stay tuned for the next Vet Spotlight as we will look into the career of more RPF Veterans to come!
