Welcome to the 34th Edition of A Day in The Life! In this column, The Rebel Broadcast Team interview three Rebels and learn more about their life outside of RPF. For this edition, we interviewed Veteran Lauren, Lieutenant General Gwen, and Colonel Noodle! Come with me and let’s learn a little more about their daily routines, and lifestyles outside of our black hoodies, bandanas, and uniform as a whole.
Lauren
If I’m at work I typically start my day around 7am. I grab some breakfast (an iced oat latte and a bagel with avocado spread) and head out at around 8am. I do 11 hour shifts so my work days feel looong. I work for a company that manages lots of apartments across the city so I’m normally walking around the city, taking photos of the apartments and checking people in. On quiet days I like finding time to grab a matcha in a nice cafe, chat to my friends on Discord or play switch games in the apartments. I get home from work quite late around 8-10pm so I make a quick dinner (I’m having a huge kick of veggie rice bowls recently), watch a couple of YouTube videos or play some games and go to bed. The long shifts are tiring but the plus side of it is I get way more days off so I essentially get 7 weekends a month! On my days off, I wake up a lot later (maybe 9-10:30am). I normally use one day to do boring things like chores, any freelance video editing work or anything I’ve been putting off then I use the other day for something fun. On the fun days, I like trying out new cafes, visiting museums/art galleries, going to arcades and hanging out with my friends.
Gwen
A typical day in the life for Gwen consists of doing nothing and everything all at the same time! I wake up at 6:45am Tues-Thursday and get ready for work. I put on my scrubs and do my hair and essentials as fast as possible so then I can lie back in bed until 7:45 when my second alarm goes off. I call this “rest-maxing.” I then head to work with my mom and get to work by 8am.
Once I’m at work, that’s when everything changes. The day can be either good or bad depending on what patients we have scheduled, if the doctor left me any notes, or if the internet is working. Most of my time at work is spent helping patients and clocking in my RPF hours by chatting in main under my desk. Everyone in RPF really helps my day at work go by quicker, and it makes me feel good when i have supportive people there to back me when i’m having a bad day.
Anyway, one of my favorite parts of my day is lunch time! We usually go to lunch around 12:30-1:30pm. We have so many great choices of places to order take out from. I eat a lot of pizza, sandwiches, salads, and occasionally sushi! I really cherish my lunch hour because for one, I get to eat. And two, I can sometimes log on for EU events, which is always fun. #mobilelogging
After lunch we usually only have 2-3 patients and then I get to go home! Once I close up the office, my mom and I go back home to finally rest. Most nights when we walk in the door my dad has yummy food waiting to be served. That’s one of the blessings of still living with my parents is my dad makes home cooked meals every night! After dinner, I feed my cats and check in on my hamster and make sure they are all happy.
I spend the rest of my night gaming and talking to my friends and/or my boyfriend. I play a variety of games from Club Penguin to Papas Freezeria to Marvel Rivals. I have so much fun relaxing and decompressing by playing games. It one of my favorite things in the world. I’ve been gaming since i was 5 years old and have been my whole life. Welp that’s my life teehee!
Noodle
So RPF wants to know what the typical weekday looks like in the life of a Noodle, huh? Well, when I first wake up, I keep at least a good 30 minutes away from my phone if I can help it! So, during that time I do my usual make-the-bed, take my meds, get dressed, maybe a bit of meditation. Then I go make my usual breakfast, which is always something protein-packed. I also like to watch a show or just enjoy a game for a bit to help my brain wake up.
About an hour or two after I wake up is around the time I start sipping on some coffee. I’m a work-from-home animator, so I like to take the coffee into my office and do some warm-up sketches before the real work rolls in around noon. I also often get in Discord calls with friends throughout the day so we can help each other lock in!
Halfway through my workday I take an hour to eat some lunch and get some exercise and sunlight in! I absolutely love going for walks and seeing what critters I might encounter. I often have the pleasure of spotting all sorts of animals: dogs, squirrels, frogs, turtles, lizards, birds, deer, alligators… I may even run into a good chat with a neighbor. If I find something especially cool, I like to share pictures and videos in the RPF #pets-channel. Some RPF friends have even taken the liberty of naming a few animals; Shoutout to Shrek the gator, Steven the turtle, and Todd Bambi the deer! >:3
When I’ve wrapped up work for the day, I like to spend my evenings relaxing mostly! I eat my dinner and hang out with my friends on Discord. I’ll sometimes chat up #main-chat in RPF, or I’ll get some gaming in on whatever I feel like playing (CPJ, Kingdom Hearts, Elder Scrolls, Raft, REPO, you name it). Anything to help me unwind and give my art brain a rest. Then, late in the evenings, I change into something comfy and watch some shows with my partner. I love to sip on some yummy bedtime tea and then maybe curl up in bed with a good book until I fall asleep.
Of course, my weekends are different- that’s when the hobbies come in. But maybe that can be saved for another day. I’m always open for a good chat! ๐
Thank you so much Lauren, Gwen, and Noodle for sharing a piece of their everyday life with us. With RPF having so many members, on behalf of the Rebel Broadcast Team, we appreciate your patience. We do hope to have the pleasure to feature YOU in a post someday!
