Vet Spotlight: Wolves

Have you ever seen someone with a dark purple name in chat and wondered who they are? Every RPF Veteran has a story, and this is the twenty-nine edition of the Vet Spotlight column, where we take you back in time to tell the story of our esteemed veterans! Today, we’re telling you the story of our veteran Wolves!

Recruitment

Wolves journey begins when he was bored one day during the holidays; he remembered playing Club Penguin as a kid, wanting to see if there was anything like it around still. This led him discovering Club Penguin Rewritten and he was hooked with nostalgia.
He had gotten the Black Belt in Card Jitsu and wanted to see if the other element games were available, but to his disappointment, this wasn’t the case. However a penguin named Sarc was in the Ninja Hideout asking another someone to join RPF.
When the first person said no, Wolves wanted to see if he could find others to play with so he asked Sarc if he could join instead.

New Troop who Dis?

On December 29th, 2018 Wolves officially joins the Rebels, however during his era Rebel Penguin Federation and Rebel Federation (Main Hub) had merged into one. He then later joined Rebel Penguin server on March 7th, 2019

Troop Experience

Describing his early days in the server as good since he got to experience other divisions thanks to the server merge. Besides Club Penguin division he enjoyed being involved in Minecraft, but his sole focus of the divisions was Club Penguin.
His first event was Operation Baker’s Dozen.

Troop of the Week

At the approximate rank of Lance Corporal Wolves became Troop of the Week number #79 on February 25th, 2019

Favorite Troop Memory

When Wolves won an event role called ‘War Hero‘ from Giveaway Bot during a time Rebel Penguin was in a war against Elite Guardians. which to his memory has never been given away again.

Ranks

As Wolves attended events and participating in the server. He enjoyed everything about RPF and due to his competitive nature, he wanted to help the army be the best so he contributed by attending events, recruiting etc. and by doing so, he naturally went up the ranks.
Although he didn’t have a Rank Goal at the time the more time went on as did his enjoyment for the community he hoped to be HCOM one day.
His favorite Rank is that of Captain.

Moderator

On March 31st, 2019 Wolves had been promoted to Brigadier General. Becoming a Mod was definitely a step up from a Troop, but at that point he felt ready to embrace some responsibility and get involved in more stuff like CPR News Team and Event Posts to help even more etc.

Although during this era mentoring was not an official aspect as it was later developed by HCOM. He does credit Cheese, Plane, Cosmo, and Crazzy for being the ones he could rely on for advice and guidance.

His favorite memory during his Mod Days was Mod U-Lead events as they don’t happen often, but unfortunately something had happened to him that made him have to go to the hospital. It didn’t stop him though. As he managed to get onto Discord about 10 minutes before the event and lead some tactics from the hospital bed, which he will never forget.

The move to HCOM

Today is the day Wolves‘ dream came true! He became Head General the equivalent to Third-in-Command on May 27th, 2019.
He decided to become HCOM so he could have a proper input on how the team did things as an army and actually make decisions that would have an impact.
Being a Mentor was fun, as he was able to point people in the right direction and offer advice based on his own experiences, and also talk in the meetings.
Shoutout to former mentees Rane and Amoji.

Becoming RPF Rebel and Retirement

Due to Wolves’ contribution to RPF had a big part in CPR News and a lot of work behind the scenes in other projects. At the time, they did alot as RPF Strike Force which he (alongside other members of HCOM) had a major role in as well.
On December 14th 2019 he both retired at the rank of Second-in-Command and was inducted into the Rebel Hall of Fame with the distinguishing purple role.

After Retiring

Wolves is not currently involved in any other Rebel Federation server he’s enjoying his retirement working as an accountant, playing video games, going to the gym, and having a night out with friends.

Closing Thoughts

Wolves felt the dynamic of RPF has definitely changed a lot, it’s a lot more mature and strict in ways, but it makes sense as everyone involved seems to be a lot older on average. Whilst he doesn’t think it’s a bad thing, it is certainly noticeable. The culture of RPF that he remembers in regards to the competitiveness and wanting to be the best seems to be the same though, which he thinks is great.

Advice for new Troops

Enjoy your time in RPF and take everything a step at a time. Try and do things to make yourself stand out (in a good way) if you want to climb the ranks and don’t be crushed if it doesn’t work out, just try something new and hope for the best. Also, the people are what make RPF an amazing place, so branch out and take a chance to get to know as many of them as possible – you might find yourself making some friends for life
