Hello Rebels! We are back with another edition of the Pet Column, where Art, Citrus, Gwen, Miggy, Morgan, and Marcasite Meg show off the amazing pets of RPF! Destroya and Charlie
Name: Charlie
Age: 9
Breed: Half Maine Coon, Half Unknown
Favorite Food: Tuna/Crab wet food
Morgan: How did you get Charlie?
Des: One of my friends when I was a teenager had a cat who had kittens! One of my favorite Charlie fun facts is that I was actually there for/assisted in his being born!
Morgan: Do you have a favorite game that you like to play with him?
Des: Absolutely! We call it “snake”, but it’s literally just a long piece of leather cord tied to a wooden stick. He loves chasing it around the house, it’s great fun!
Morgan: Are there any tricks that he can do? If so, what are they?
Des: I love this question because yes! He knows how to sit, stand up on his back legs, and recently I’ve taught him (or he taught himself) to “touch”, so he’ll reach up and tap the container his food is in before I feed him! He’ll also choose between thing; like if I offer two kinds of food, he’ll tap the one he wants
Morgan: If he had any magical ability, what do you think it’d be?
Des: What a fun question! I think it would either be telekinesis so that he could get as much food as he wanted or telepathy so he could take annoying into doing it for him a step further
Morgan: What is your favorite memory or story of Charlie?
Des: Ooh that’s a tough one! I have so many wholesome ones, but I’ll go with a funny one. When he was a lot younger we’d just moved into a new apartment and I didn’t realize there was a whole behind the fridge! I couldn’t find him for hours then our landlord knocked on our door and asked if we were missing a cat, and it turned out he’d jumped through the floor and ended up in our downstairs neighbor’s apartment. I went and got him and as soon as I set him down, he went and did it again immediately.

Blu and Rafael
Name: Rafael
Age: 3 years old
Breed: Cockatiel
Favorite Food: Rice, melon, and sunflower seeds
Gwen: How did you come up with the name Rafael?
Blu: I’m pretty sure it was my mom that came up with the name, our little birdie’s name was Bruno and she wanted to continue the lineage I guess lol
Gwen: What is one of your favorite memories with him?
Blu: For some reason he absolutely LOVES cupboards and these little closed spaces, and there was this one day that he was on top of my bathrooms cupboard, trying to get in, and it had a little vase on the top of it. For some UNGODLY reason this little menace decided to push the vase to the exact spot that if anyone tried to open it, it would fall of. And you guessed it, I opened the cupboard and the vase IMMEDIATELY fell and made a mess all over the bathroom. And I remember I was having a bad day so I got pretty annoyed with the situation, but it took me ONE LOOK on this goofy bird’s face and suddenly I was laughing while cleaning the mess he made
Gwen: Does he have any fun personality traits or different quirks to him?
Blu: Oh I would say he’s def pretty curious about all thing, even though he’s a bit of a scaredy cat lmao. He is also a bottomless pit, this bird can eat all day and will still be hungry!
Gwen: Can he do any tricks? And if so, what are they?
Blu: Honestly I don’t think he does anything that could be called a trick but whenever I have him on my finger, he does this thing where if I move my finger up and down he bops his head along and does little chirps for every head bop
Gwen: Does he have any favorite toys or anything he plays with?
Blu: I feel like he’s a very destructive bird, so the things he likes are mostly thing he can destroy. He loves toothpicks, paper towels, and specially this notebook from my dad that now has like half of its cover absolutely gone. He’s also very fond of my keyboard’s keys, I’m currently missing 5 keys because of this little guy </3

Skullflame and Raine
Name: Raine
Age: < 1 year
Breed: French Bulldog
Favorite Food: Bananas
Miggy: How did you get Raine?
Skullflame: So, we originally didn’t plan on getting a second dog, but the place where we got my oldest Bennett posted on their Facebook about new dogs and we just instantly fell in love with her and we knew we needed to get her
Miggy: How did she get her name?
Skullflame: My family and I decided on it after discussing names a couple days before getting her. Funnily enough, it was a rainy day when we got her
Miggy: Does Raine know any tricks?
Skullflame: She knows the basic ones like spin, and she can stand on her back legs for a good bit!
Miggy: Do you have any nicknames for her?
Skullflame: We call her Rainey, Piggy, Potato, Sister (to go with Brother ofc our older one)
Miggy: What’s your favorite memory or stroy with her?
Skullflame: I think it was when I first got to hold her, her favorite way of being held is being held like a baby. Her first bath was also a great memory
Miggy: One more question! If she had any super power, what would it be?
Skullflame: She would definitely have telekinesis so she can open the fridge and get her food
