PPC Events

This 2021, the Party Planning Committee has once again brought us various fun parties; ranging from a Valentines themed week, to a very festive Christmas party. Let’s look back at all their projects and relive the moment!

On February 12-14, the PPC held the event Federation Friendship Weekend in honor of Valentines’ Day! The Rebels were able to exchange candy grams, take a friendship quiz, meet new people, and share love all around the community!

To celebrate Easter, PPC presented Rebels Through the Looking Glass. It’s a fun spring week-long event inspired by Alice in Wonderland! It ran from March 4-11, wherein the Rebels got to take a fun quiz to find out which AIW character they relate most to, and had the opportunity to hunt for easter eggs around the server!

The PPC started off the summer season with Retro Rebels. Starting fromJuly 8 and ending on July 11, the Rebels got thrown back into prehistoric times while trying to save RPF! We scavenged for items whilst dodging dinosaurs, got to see a future where RPF was never created, and had a talent show where the Rebels got to show off what they’ve got!

The highlight of 2021’s summer season was PPC’s and RPF HCOM’s Summer Olympics, which ran from August 21st to the 27th. The Olympics were inspired by the Percy Jackson series, and the Rebels competed in five different games throughout the week. In the end, only one team was able to take home the winning title!

Next up on PPC’s long list of successful parties was the Rebel Branch Spirit Weekend. This weekend ran from the 15th of October to the 17th, and it was held to encourage team spirit within the RPF community. The Rebels competed in multiple games, fashion shows, and a big branch battle at the end of the party!

Rebel Horror Hotel was PPC’s Halloween Party. It started on October 25th, and ended on October 31st, right on Halloween day! It revolved around a Hotel Transylvania theme, where the Rebels checked themselves into a haunted hotel for a relaxing vacation full of movie viewings, bingo games, and a fun gala!

Rebel Cash for Change was a project between the PPC and the Rebel Commanders. It was inspired by OG Club Penguin’s Coins for Change. The Rebels were given the entire month of December to donate their Rebel Cash to three different charities, and at the end of the month, RPF HCOMs and other volunteers donated their own real-life money to these charities. It was a fun way to build a sense of community while at the same time helping out in the real world!

To end the year of 2021 and to celebrate Christmas, PPC brought one last party to the table: Rebel Grinchmas. It started on the 19th of December and ended on the 24th, right at the precipice of Christmas. The Rebels got together to catch the Grinch who ruined their holiday preparations, solved mysteries, decorated ornaments, and had a big feast on Christmas eve!

Other Announcements

Here are some other miscellaneous changes that have happened in RPF over the last year!

On February 18th, new perks for server boosters were added. Rebels who boosted the server would be rewarded with a Rebel Booster role (which is a multiplier role) and an event token, allowing boosters to lead an event for five minutes. From June 11th, the Rebel Booster role had an additional perk of paying 5000 RC per week.

In the past year, several new channels have been added to the server. On April 10th, a new Pet channel was added, giving troops the chance to show off their cuddly pals! Shortly after, on June 5th, a new Food channel was added. This time, giving troops the opportunity to send their awesome food pics! The latest channel that was added proved to be a life saver for many. The Homework Help channel allowed Rebels to ask their questions or even help a fellow Rebel in need.

The year 2021 marked many milestones for RPF. On May 8th, we celebrated our 14th anniversary. To mark our anniversary, Rebel Records was created. It’s a new unscripted and interactive talk show using the new stage voice channel feature, where Rebels had the chance to be interviewed live on air. Another episode of Rebels Records was hosted on July 17th, when we celebrated our 1 year anniversary of the BIA formation.

Throughout the year, festive roles and roles marking special occasions were added to the Rebel Cash shops. Other than the Rebel Cash shop roles, new self-assignable roles were introduced as well. On May 22nd, after many people had requested it, pronoun roles were finally introduced to the server. This helped server members to know one another’s pronouns without having to ask. On June 23rd, the Rebel Broadcast Team (RBT) started replacing mass-pings with a new Broadcast Ping role. Getting the Broadcast Ping role would notify role members whenever a new post by the RBT was published.

June 12th was a day where Rebel Bot fans got excited. One of Rebel Bot’s beta features was introduced and it was none other than a classic snake game, where Rebels could play and earn Rebel Cash. November 25th was also another exciting day for Rebels as the first Cyber Monday Discounts on Rebel Cash shop and workshop roles were introduced. Rebels could use their hard-earned Rebel Cash from events, battles and giveaways to buy roles at massive discounts.

On August 14th, a new RPF team was introduced – Rebel Graphic Designer. This is the third team that is open to Specialists and above for applications. This saw many Rebels applying to be a part of this cool team and contributing many cool artwork and designs for our server! On October 12th, a special announcement was made with regards to the ranking system. Scout Medic was removed as a rank and many Rebels expressed sadness in our server that day. However, it was announced that the condensation of ranks would actually make it easier for troops to get promoted.

And that is all Rebels! Thank you all for tuning into our 2021 Year in Review and let’s make new memories for 2022. This is Yvng Baller signing off :gradbear:
